I have a friend doing this diet as well and it's basically a 40:30:30 split diet. It apparently brings your insulin levels and glucagon levels to a point called the "zone". This allows anti-inflammatory chemicals to release, just as aspirin does in an eca cycle. Just with the aspirin. He swears by it as well. I will ask him more details as to what he eats and stuff but thats all he told me just now. He's at work so when he gets out I can find out more

I know it very well. Its the first nutrition plan i ever seriously followed. I was in my early/mid 20's and 313 lbs...said if i wanna see 30 i need to do something. Went out and bought Dr Barry Sears -TheZone book and joined a gym. Proceeded to lose 80 lbs of fat and put on some muscle in 10 months. Changed my life (seriously). Its a great program imo..not necessarily for muscle building etc....but for healthy lifestyle - its excellent. Still like the zone perfect apple cinnamon bars from time to time!
40% carbs / 30% protein / 30% mostly healthy fats
