My first day back to the gym!!!

This morning was my first day back to the gym in 8 months!

I was hobbling around on crutches and my big old air cast with a trainer...

Cant put any load on the foot yet... but I worked my leg, well both and my hips.

The only hang up I had was getting stuck on the matts twice because I couldnt get to my crutches and there was nothing to hold on to. That was actually funny.

It felt so good to be back in there

And as before the accident, gotta push it... the adrenaline rush was something else!

Oh, car addident, deer, telephone pole, shattered heel.

After the work out, I was sitting on a shower chair and it just felt so good with the water running and having accomplished a good workout...

Im going back tomorow for upper body.

I am so soar right now, its just burning and it feels GREAT!!!

I just thought I would share

Glad to hear you are back. It is amazing that you are working out under those conditions. Many would give you a pass for being in a cast and crutches. Now I realize how lazy I am when I consider skipping a workout because of something considerably less intrusive. See, not only are you helping yourself, but you are helping others.

Well, missing a few weeks of workouts is understandable, completely.

I was out for almost five years. Spinal injury. In my defense, I tried several times to get back to the gym. Each time the pain would come back after a week of moderate weight. This time I have been good to go since December! Still, you put me to shame.

Im glad your finally able to find a good balance, working out without injury.

Is it something where you can slowly build up the muscle around the area and help it along?

That sounds like a horrible five years, Im sorry you had to go through that.

Congrats on getting back in there! Don't rush it though, I broke my clavicle awhile back and I actually refractured it a couple months later by going to heavy on bench. It made this loud pop and the bar dropped back onto my chest. My workout buddy just stood there with his mouth open. Way to fvckin spot, sheesh.

If you dont mind following up there was a couple questions on your other post in regards to the gabapenton and sides along with my comments on how to react when a deer or something jumps on front of you.

    Hey Everyone,

I went to the gym this morning and worked upper body for the most part... and a little for my hips.

I didnt know, but as it turns out when you dont move for long periods of time, its very easy to have a hip ingury.

To add to that, my trainer was telling me that the most hip injuries are in kids.

Its due to all the time they spend in front of a computer and not out doing physical activites. Then they go to gym class or go out and try to jump around or move, they hurt themselves.

    Its sad.

    ---------
    ...and I have been painting.

The day is going as planned. It hurts so good
