I take 75mg's of benadryl when I cant sleep. It always seems to knock me out.
I go through bad weeks like this every 1.5 months or so... it's pure agony. I fall right asleep, but wake up an hour or 2 later and then it's just up all night. My body is tired, but my mind is racing. I am SUPER alert right upon waking, not even groggy in the least. I could wake up and take a fvcking SAT exam 2 seconds later. It's pure insanity, and NOTHING works. Ambien, Lunesta, Alcohol, Mary Jane, OTC sleep aids, Melatonin... NOTHING! Anxiety man... it'll kill ya.
I can't fall asleep for shit. It probably takes me an average of 2-3 hours per night. Most of the time I stay asleep after I fall asleep, but probably once or twice a week I'll wake up all night long every hour or so. I don't have bad anxiety, but my mind is racing. I'm just thinking about shit all the time, and I think that's what's doing it.
Unisom is good too.....I did that for awhile and it helped and is OTC
nothing beats a Xanax or atavan if you have a script for them. When i can't sleep I use a combo of melatonin, valarian root, and 50mg of benadryl. But when i take melatonin i take a pretty high dose. 25mg. I usually sleep but have some strange dreams, like once i dreamed i got shot and could see a big gaping hole in my stomach and i got in a taxi and sylvester stalone was my cab driver who kept telling me it was just a scratch and making small talk. :S

Well I can't help it I always wake up, usually to unload a monster piss, but often I can't get back to sleep so I take another melatonin as soon as I wake up to ensure I'll get back to sleep. I use only half to A) that's all I really need B) I use half as much as I would using a whole C) It leaves me less drowsy in the morning
