    Chicken vs turkey

After googling this I can't seem to get a definative answer. 1 website said turkey because much leaner, another said chicken has a higher protein content but turkey leaner, another said chicken contains a more complete balance of amino acids. A diet book belonging to the other half I read a few yrs ago said turkey has the better balance of amino acids.
So does anyone know for sure which contains the most protien and better amino acids? I think it would be safe to say turkey is leaner, but if it contains less protien then its a big trade off unless cutting.
    Cheers.

Ps, I remember the last time I was training seriously (around 10 yrs ago ) MetRx was all the hype, does anyone still use it as it doesn't seem to be mentioned on these forums anywhere? Or has it been bettered ?

I don't know if there is a real difference, but I think you're really splitting hairs. Maybe try both turkey and chicken in your diet.

Cheers mate. It was more curiosity than anything, and the mixed opinions I read on diff websites made me even more curious. I quite like turkey, although a lot of people find it dry. Its also a lot cheaper than chicken. I sometimes eat 'devilled turkey' which is nice. Mix 1 Tbsp mustard with 1 Tbsp Lea & Perrins Worcestershire sauce, cut the turkey breast into strips, marinate in sauce for half hr then grill. Really nice

I'm with Latis, whatever differences there are, they're negligible at best. I hear you on the curiosity thing though, always interesting to learn useless knowledge, lmao!

Lol, what got me was one website I lookad at put Turkey as having around half the protien content gram for gram as chicken. This can't be true, surely. Also 99% of people doing any kind of bodybuilding/ weight lifting always go for chicken. Was curious as to why its always chicken and not turkey, especially as turkey is leaner.
    Cheers.

You can find fattier turkey or fattier chicken. On the internet you could probably pull up countless conflicting nutrition facts. Just stick with the label on the food you buy. I think it's easier to find boneless skinless chicken breasts than it is turkey at your normal grocery store, however, if you look at some videos of pro body builders explaining their diet they usually eat both, it's good to have a variety of protein sources, but neither one is superior to the other.

If turkey is on sale I buy it, same goes for chicken. Simple as that

I do turkey breast and chicken breast, mixes it up a little bit and provides a break from chicken. IMO both are fine and are loaded with protein...peace
