    RMR Metabolsim testing

I have an appointment this weekend to get the testing done. It is basically a test that test how many calories your body burns in a day(no exercise, just to function) then you take an exercise test to see where you need to be heart rate wise to burn the most fat.

I was wanting to see if anybody has done this and what were your results.

Absolutley the best $215 I have ever spent. Told me exactly the bare minimum amount of calories u was supposed to be taking in daily to function. Told me how many calories to take in to maintain my weight and then did an exercise test that told me what my heart rate needed to be at to burn the most fat. She gave me a cardio plan and talked to me about diet. If you live in the Dallas/Ft. worth metroplex and want to know exactly what amount of calories you need PM me and I will send you the contact info. Very well worth it!!!!

How does this test work? Sure, I am going to Google it, but would like to hear from a person that did it in addition to the technical and sales rubbish I will end up reading.

Edit: are you guys talking about the one where you breathe into a tube for 15 minutes?

Yes that is the test. You sit there for 15 minutes just calm to get your daily calorie quantities. Then you get put on a cardio machine and you are hooked up to a machine that tells you where your heart rate needs to be to burn the most fat while doing cardio. I read about the testing in MensHealth magazine and then I just searched it and found somebody locally that did the testing.

i am 6' and 256lbs. My minimum calories a day, just for bodily functions was 2644 calories. My minimum calories without exercise but just a seditary lifestyly to remain at my current weight is 3400 calories. I believe my VO2 score was 39.2, My heart rate where I burn the most fat calories was between 140-155 bpm. But these would be different for a another person even if we were the exact same stats. Its all in how your body uses the oxygen it takes in. Its actually a cool test to do.
