Anyone using low level lasers to speed recovery?

These dim, but dangerous to the eyes, lasers penetrate 5cm or 3/8". Use on smaller muscles like biceps to speed recovery. I read that the top riders in
the Tour de France have their legs bathed in that light every evening. Worth
researching. Possible use for gyno as apparently the low level laser beam destroys fat cells. Worth researching. (Clinics are offering low level laser spot fat
    removal)

yep, so it's not "take this pill and magic will happen" but " use this laser and magic will happen"

actually i know which ones you are talking about, lets put it another way, if i can stimulate a specific area, and "irritate" it so that additional stimulation and body response happens in that area, will it not recover faster??

people do it with ice to reduce swelling all the time..

I believe you should research changes in cell structure and chemistry following low-level laser
application. Ice and heat are very effective i.e. stopping or starting liquid flows. Using lasers
common practice with race horses. Euipment is not cheap though there are a number advertised on ebay.
As to gyno, I read that the laser creates little tubes that drain the liquid from fats cells, hence, killing them

So far there is no conclusive research that this is beneficial. There is some good basic research that has been done that certainly shows changes at a cellular level affecting the mitochondria that can help stimulate healing. The problem is we still don't know what the proper wavelength to use is and effective treatment parameters. Too many total joules into the system can actually do damage at a cellular level. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years to see if this becomes beneficial.

when the mayo clinic releases a study saying it works, then i'll support it, until then i'll continue to use disdain and denial..

but thanks for posting other possible products and procedures..

supporting links to medical studies might be helpful

Yes, research is always needed on everything. However, the old rule "follow the money" indicates that those who are competing for profit, cyclists, race horses, etc, are using such devices apparently with success. Time will tell.
