Apparently Eating is harder than working out...

As I am learning the basics of nutrition through this forum I am gaining a lot more respect for those who can stick to a high protein diet. I am just starting out now my LBM is about 147 according to my estimates. I am estimating I have ~50 lbs of fat. I am 5'10", 193lbs, 33y/o and according to a tanita body fat scale I am 23% fat, but the pinch test I got at 24 hour fitness says 29% fat. Here is my photo's, I have a lot of work to do:

    embarrassing photo's

So I am trying to cram this much protein down my pie hole in a day and it is hard, is this right?

    protein(g) / Food
    12.6 / eggs
    7.2 / egg whites
    20 / buffalo
    30 /chicken breast
    104 /protein shake
    30 / london broil
    8 / almonds
17 / fat free cottage cheese

    Total 228g's of protein

    1.5 g's of protein per LBM lbs= 1.5x147= 220 g's of protein

Based on your LBM, 220g is about right. Yes, it can be tough to get that much protein in every day. Do your best, supplement when you need to and you'll get used to it. Keep a variety of foods (like you have above) and it will help with adherence, as you won't get so sick of eating the same foods day after day.

    Don't forget about fish either!

You need to cut major. Don't worry so much about protein intake as much as overall calories for the day. Green veggies and a ton of cardio

Im bulking and eating is the hardest part for me too. This heat isnt making it any easier either. I work in the heat and was eating every 2 hrs, started feeling sick, so I switched it to 2.5hrs, better but still not working for me. So I'll be starting every 3 hrs on Monday. It was much easier 2 months ago!!

I am working up to 60 minutes of cardio a day, I could barely handle 45 minutes, I jogged, walked a bit and sprinted. Anything to keep my heart rate up for as long as i could handle. I am pretty sore in my right calf and all over my body but it isnt nothing I havent felt before.

I really hope I'll have some great "after" pictures for you guys. Gbrice looking forward to seeing your results too.

You dont have to kill yourself with cardio. You only need target heart rate cardio for burning fat! At your age thats gonna be about 120-125

I will have to agree with you, eating the amount of food you need to grow is alot more difficult than normal eating

yes, dieting/eating is more challenging than training because training is just 1-3 hours of a day where eating can be up to 16+ hours. and do what twist said, cardio and a lot of green veggies. we are the same height and i was at your weight at the beginning of the year. since joining this board, i have lost about 16 pounds of fat! just be true to yourself and work hard it! if it were easy, everyone would be doing it!

Pick a plan and stay consistent and it will work. Good luck to you~
