    Canned chicken breast

Any reason I shouldn't eat this? Everyone talks about canned tuna, but not chicken....

No where near as good as fresh. Canned chicken is full of additives and preservatives - I'd say it would be very high in sodium also. However if you look at the ingredients on a can of tuna it only contain tuna, water, oil and salt.

Canned chicken is also very expensive - probably 2-3x the price of fresh pound for pound.

Just cook for the week, refridgerate and reheat

It's fine from a protein standpoint, but as mentioned above it's usually loaded with sodium and such. Just read the ingredients carefully.

I wouldnt eat it a a staple since chikcen breast is cheaper and better howver I always have a couple large cans around just in case along with a couple cans of tuna as well. Once i a great while i eat it. What i do is after opening can sqeeze out as much water as i can with lid...then keeping lid on i put under running water and rock lid back and forth to rinse off as much of the salt as possible...then i squeeze out water and eat it. Usually i use plain FF yogurt or lowfat mayo and make chiken salad - liitle pepper , celery seed , touch of lemon juice. Tastes ok.
