    am workout: no food?

I workout in the am, before work. I actually feel stronger and have more energy on the days I am running late and have nothing in me besides a cup of coffee w/ half and half. Anyone else feel this way? Any reason why I shouldn't wait to eat after my workout all the time?

Well, generally, you should have something in your stomach before hitting the weights, especially in the morning when you are fasting from the night. If you go to the gym first thing in the morning, I would recommend eating something light (Dry, whole-wheat toast and maybe a piece of fruit for example).

In response to you feeling stronger and having more energy, I know that if I go to the gym too soon after a full stomach, I feel sluggish and weak.

I to workout in am before work. I actually attribute the feeling of more energy to the fact that i just got 8 hrs of sleep, could be wrong. About food, i just have myself a protein sake and off to the gym i go. Would hate to leave my body in starvation mode for another 2hrs.

Even a shake makes me sluggish. Guess I'm just gonna have to experiment w/ differnt foods.

You need fuel for your machine to run. Definitly have something b4 workout. Either wake up earlier or eat oatmeal otw to the gym. Sipping on aminos helps too

I take in 30 grams of protien within 30 minutes of waking up if I am working out in the morning. Has helped me quite a bit.

i personally wouldnt eat anything. so the body isnt digesting the food while ur working out.. i personally would puke with food in my stomach, but u need food for energy. so maybe go with a bowl of fruit right before gym?

this morning i woke up at 4 am.. had a big pre workout meal. worked out at 6:30 am... and i threw up at 7 am after deadlifts... in the parking lot. felt horrible.

i usually workout at night with no food in stomach for 3ish hours....

for me i workout better at evenings/nights...

I train fasted in the AM as well. I usually eat more at night, so there's "fuel in the tank" the next morning. Plus, I like to dose 10g BCAA before heading out. Works for me.

Not much but i did 275lbs for 3 sets, 6 reps 6 reps and 5 reps

I never puked b4. I think its jist cuz i had alot food in my stomach. Early in the morning And deadlifts Usually knock the wind out of me. I always feel like i just ran a mile after deadlifting... Just never to a vomit level..
I gotta start doing cardio. Once i cut, im going to do cardio every othet day to get back in shape(heart wise)

Just may be just me.. Or it can be my breathing technique. But i dont think so.

But anyways, lesson learned.. For me
