is eating 6+ cups of oats a day effective?

I pound down about 5-7 cups of oats a day for the past 3 months. I don't notice any negative sides from all the oats besides bloating, smelly exhausts and multiple dumps a day.
If I take in 450-500g of carbs from oats will i see gains provided my proteins and fats are in check?

You'll see gains if your diet and training are in check. Oats are a fine carb source. Idk your stats, but I'm willing to bet 450-500g of carbs is way excessive.

Everyone's body has slightly different reactions to foods, and some people cannot tolerate oats at all, some Celiac disease sufferers specifically. You see, most oats come from a factory that also manufactures wheat and gluten products so there is always a slight chance of cross-reactivity. If you delve into Celiac disease research and really study the effects that wheat has on the body, and GI tract, you'll understand that consuming large quantities of such foods has an effect on pretty much all individuals because as much as we are different we are also all human and have pretty much the same gene structure.

Wheat has 6x more genes than humans, and actually contains over 23,000 different proteins. The human body only requires, what, like 23 total? In fact, one of the proteins found in wheat has the indenticle molecrular structure as the "whooping cough" and therefore our body releases small amounts of anti-bodies when exposed to such proteins. Namely, gliadin-a, an alcohol soluble protein, is the one to watch out for. Alpha-gliadin antagonizes the proteins that line the gut wall, and can induce intestinal permeability through increase enteropathy.

Anyway, the minor protein found in oats is a prolamine called avenin. Avenin is toxic to the intestinal mucosa of avenin-sensitive individuals and can trigger the same type of reaction as wheat does in Celiac disease sufferers.

In essence we're all "a bit celiac" and would do better to stay away from such foods containing gliadins. If you are sensitive to the oats try switching it up, or reducing your serving size per day. There's almost no perfect disaccharide out there except maybe Quinoa, in my opinion. Rice, potatoes, and most starchy or or legume-like proteins have their downside when consumed in mass quantity, due to aspects that range from resistant starches, to chitin-binding lectins.

    Anyway, happy flatulence for now!

Why would you want to eat some much oats? Couldn't you possibly use brown rice, boiled potatoes, yams etc.

    ^^ THIS!!!

Base, get your hands on vanilla flavored Myofusion from Gaspari Nutrition, mix 1.5 scoops in 1/2 cup oats, 2 packets of splenda, slice up a banana over the top and sprinkle w/ cinnamon - and tell me that ain't the SH!T !!!!

Secret ingredient - a 'dash' of fat free half and half - makes it all super creamy!
