    Would jogging count as low intensity?

    I'm currently walking for an hour fasted 4 days a week. I wanted to know if I should kick things up a notch and jog instead. But if it's too much to the point that I'll start losing muscle then I'd rather stick to the walk.

    Probably depends on your heart rate. Are you monitoring you heart level?

    have some protein/carbs before you jog if you are worried about losing muscle

    I'm not really monitoring my heart level cause I'm just doing it outside. But I've done it on the treadmill on the same speed and it is usually around 140. I'm taking BCAA before my cardio. I just wanted to know if it would be better to jog, I know I'll burn more fat but if it's not worth it cause I'll lose more muscle then there's no point. The BCAA have helped a lot so far though, but my fat doesn't seem like it's dropping. My diet is 99% on point too. So I was thinking maybe I should up the intensity and instead maybe jog for 45 min instead of walk for an hour.

    walk=low
    jogging=medium
    sprinting=high
    sprint instead twice a week and walk for to, ditch the jogging

    My bf is at 15% last I checked, but since I just bulked about 20 pounds I'll go and say it's probably at 16% now. I am 182, 5'9. I want to at least cut down to 12%.

    Best Answer.

    Your heart rate is your best means for determining intensity unless you are doing aerobic threashold training and can do lactate testing.

    way i judge low intesnsity is when im exercising i can have a convo but have to take some breathes in there whilst talking.

    not acurate but its a guideline.

    for me a slow jog is low intensity

    It all depends on the shape you are in. You might be low intensity walking and high jogging. You might be low intensity jogging and high running fast/sprint. You might be high intensity walking fast. So to determine this monitor your heart rate to find out.

    Like said above depends what ur goals are. But intensity is determined by your heart rate. You cant stay jogging is high intensity full stop. Because everyone has different target heart rates. For example mines around 140 for burning fat during am fasted cardio. For me that's a fast walk or slow jog. Goodluck
