How strict should i be with my diet?

    I am an ectomorph

I put on 5kg since i started 4 months ago or so, i was really thin, filled out pretty much, and my lifts have gone up + muscle mass...

    my stats currently:

    6'1

    77kg

still underweight yes, what should i be worrying about now? should i be worrying about not eating chocolate?

i currently eat anything/everything, so white rice, white bread, any food my mother makes (usually fried or cooked with oil).

i barely eat sugars (chocolates etc, unless i really feel like it)

and also is it true 1 pound per 1 pound of bodyweight?

i'm sorry i sound like a nooby, but im just updating all my information sort of

and im eating enough..or else i wouldn't have gained weight, eating around 3000 - 3200 calories a day.

also what should i do if i start to notice im really putting on actual FAT?

    thanks guys!

I would try to focus on eating primarily the foods that can cause muscle tissue to grow - ie. carbohydrates and protein at every meal. Eating fried fatty foods does nothing for increasing LBM, all it does is increase your overall calories - and excess dietary fat is the most likely way to store new body fat. If you're a very hard gainer keep eating your white rice and bread but at some point when your calories get high enough, you will store new body fat if you keep up with the fatty fried foods. If you can't stomach enough carbs to keep gaining and need to further increase cals then try upping your cals with healthy fats like nuts, olive oil, fish oil, etc.

Check out the sticky's mate, it seems to me you need to learn the very basic fundamentals.

Okay got it. Was just curious what's going to happen if I ate excess dietary
    Fats.

Not trying to sound like a d!ck, but isn't the answer obvious? Excess calories from any macro nutrient will likely result in some fat gain. Excess dietary fats will most definitely result in fat gain.

Before you post your diet and everything read through the stickies twice. People will not mind helping you out but from the sounds of it your diet is going to need a complete overhaul and your going to have to start from scratch more than likely. I'd also read these two threads:

Slow and steady wins the race here. Continuity.

And to answer your question pertaining to "strict."
A tad bit strict for some and a lot of strict for others.

STRICT for the ultimate perfect body as in the 10% range; to the BB body in the 5% range.
So to answer your question. Yep. THEY ARE STRICT. All levels have a bit of strict regardless; or, a heck of a lot. And I mean a lot. Like counting every single macro and cooking once a week to prepare meals to have on hand all week in tupperware. And training to perfect t.

Depends on your goals how strict you want to be.
