Shoulder aching causing forearm and fingers to shoot with pain?

Shoulder aching causing forearm and fingers to shoot with pain?

I've been chatting to regulars around the gym lately and they've had the same issues as me, and was wondering if it was happening to anyone on here...the shoulder doesn't ache as much, just a bit here and there.. but definitely has less range of motion.. the pain is on the front of delt type deal, possibly even where pec minor ties in... but I believe it is causing forearm pain which then shoots (dull ache) down to my two fingers, middle and pointer.

Pain is usually only bad when sitting around upon waking up or before bed... no real pain during training

Does anyone know what this may be and how to treat it?

Chiro said my c6 and c7 may be effecting it.. he said there is some definite work to be done!

If it gets bad go see an ortho. You prob have a pinched nerve. Hopefully your chiro can help and go see someone who does muscle work. I got great relief from my chiro and massage therapist. However, kept coming back and finally got to the point where I really could do nothing but lay still. If I moved at all the pain came roaring back. Then they put me on some meds which helped. I still ended up having surgery, but it fixed the problem and my recovery has been great. Surgery is allways a last resort, try everything else first.

its def a nerve inpingement. Maybe stemming from your neck. See a phisical therapist and they will straighten it out. If you dont it will only come and go getting worse as time goes on

My chiro says c5-c7 vertabrae in neck is causing this pain, and the imginement you're talking about.. sounds like a nerve eh?

I have a tattoo booked for this Tuesday and I want to get it, but wanted to get peoples opinions to see if it really is a nerve as Idont want to get a tattoo then have to get my shoulder cut into! I have an ultrasound thursday so we will see what they say!

Keep us posted. Sounds like mine except it keeps getting worse. I'm going to try to lay off weights for a couple of weeks and starting some PT and massage therapy Friday.
I believe it's a tendon due to the pain location. I did pinch a nerve in the lower neck/back around the same time so it could be related. Maybe a couple more trips to the chiro is called for also?

Good to hear. I have not had anything done yet. Went to PT last week, just a couple new exercises since I was already doing several. Hope they start the deep tissue massage this week, it's getting OLD and not lifting is killing me.

careful with the witch doctor, i had one treat me and recommending this that and the other (countless trips to him, of course), i finally got my hospital appointment to be told i'd a trapped nerve in the intercostal muscles between the ribs, and its untreatable and i can only manage the pain with drugs.

Yeah many people consider chiropractors witch doctors but I also know many people who consider traditional doctors as whacks and hacks. I know after 3+ years of my mom going to traditional doctors telling her the pain was in her head and not in her back add suggesting she be committed she went to a chiropractor and it cured her after only a few trips.

I have visited a couple who only wanted repeat business and those you stay away from. I have meet a couple who are GREAT and only adjust when it's needed and relieve a great amount of pain by adjusting properly. Some are batter than others.

I have been to many doctors who like to just give you this pill or that and keep you coming back. I have had to argue with doctors about this or that pill makes me feel weird, tired, stomach issues and have had to demand to switch meds because I know best after research.

There are quacks in all fields. Dont count out chiropractors because you have had one that was bad or you heard xxx. A good chiro is someone who incorporates massage manipulation and exercise or stretching.

If you dont trust chiropractors then visit an sports medicine doctor or a Osteopathic,

Manipulations have there place. With the shoulder area stretching seems to be best and deep tissue massage but for the back mile manipulation can do wonder.

I have not had MRI on the left shoulder yet. I was planning on going this week but after PT today and getting it to stretch a lot further than normal with very limited help it has felt a lot better. I will stick to this for a while and see if in a couple of weeks it does not start to improve. With a little manipulation pulling and stretching it to places I can not do alone seems to be freeing it up quite a bit. I do all the wall presses, cage hange, chair lifts, weight rotation ect. Having someone to pull you int positions you are not use to helps quite a bit. Did some good ultra sound this time also. Hoping for some real deep tissue massage Friday.
