A banana by itself is pretty useless. Fructose mainly restores liver glycogen, not muscle glycogen.

I'm personally a fan of complex carbs PWO. I'm not a simple carb type of guy. It's oats for me, every single time. I dump them raw into my shake, mix, chug, chew, repeat. Love it!

Hey everyone. I know could do a better first post. But since I was wonderin the same thing about a week ago, thought I'd comment.

Im like gbrice, like my oats. But I tried blending them up dry in a magic bullet. Worked out that one of my whey scoops is equal to 1/4 cup of oats. I blend up a bunch and keep it in a Tupperware container. Two or three scoops in a post w/o drink goes down much easier.

Works great for a quick breakfast too if you're runnin late. Four scoops ground oats, two scoops whey, and a banana. Not perfect but not bad if you're in a rush.

Unless youre using insulin or some form of IGF there is no need for simple carbs in pwo meal.

Oats, sweet potatoes, milk, ezekiel products, etc work great.

I thought I read that high GI carbs are ideal in a PWO meal (making dextrose favorable to oats), stating the benefits of the insulin spike post workout. Or am I misinformed?
