    Legs and cardio

Ok from what I read over the years your day off from cardio should be your leg day. Is this just because your legs are spent after a serious workout or is there more to it? I've been doing great with my cardio routine and now my leg day falls on a day off from work. So I have the most time I can spend at the gym and would like to get cardio in.

Could I do low intensity either before or after the leg workout or not a good idea. Not even sure if I'll have the energy but would like to try. Cardio is usually fat burning routine on the stepper for 30 mins. Was just thinking of walking for 25-30 on the treadmil.

    Thanks guys.

If I am struggling to get my cardio in i have no problem with doing it on leg day but I would have to do it after, not before.

Also, it is always fairly low intensity. I prefer getting on a treadmill, whacking the incline up to top whack and walking about 5kmh for 20 mins. It definitely helps glutes and calves too.

ive heard that you can do cardio on leg day. maybe im wrong. just what i read in a magazine.

better to do cardio after workout. while doing cardio it takes awhile to burn fat because first you have to get through your sugar energy. if you lift weight first you get through using your sugar and then once its time for your bike or or treadmill you can get into burning fat faster because you already used the sugar.

Yeah i know cardio after a workout. Was just always told on this board, no cardio on a leg day. Was just curiosu thats all. I have stayed away from it most of the time because of that.

Stem: Definitely liked what you said, and that how i always do my treadmil walking. Usually on a normal day i go at 3.9-4.2 pace. Put the treadmil i use (forget the name) Goes up 30% incline, and they have the quick hit button increasing by 3's. So every 1.5 mins i increase the incline by 3 until i hit 30, then drecrease same way till back to zero. Just not going to do 30% on a leg day lol. My legs are getting super strong and pushing super hard. I took it easy today. Treadmil at 3.5-3.6 at tops 18%.

    Why are you doing cardio?

Are you dieting or gaining weight?

Im doing light cardio, with a bulk cycle...just to keep the bloat under control. Nothing major, just enough to burn a little fat.

Maybe 3-4 times a wk, never more then 30 mins. And low intensity.

I do light cardio on my leg day just to cool off. It seems to help with the stiffness the next day. But the day after leg day for me is Wed. I take that day completely off. As I get closer to 40 I find that I really need a complete rest day in the middle of the week.
