Been clean for a year.. shooting pain from shoulder into forearm and fingers?

I am thinking it may be all the gear that was lubing my joints before, maybe now Im just getting used to be cleaning but anyway heres my story..

I've been chatting to regulars around the gym lately and they've had the same issues as me, and was wondering if it was happening to anyone on here...the shoulder doesn't ache as much, just a bit here and there.. but definitely has less range of motion.. the pain is on the front of delt type deal, possibly even where pec minor ties in... but I believe it is causing forearm pain which then shoots (dull ache) down to my two fingers, middle and pointer.

Pain is usually only bad when sitting around upon waking up or before bed... no real pain during training

Does anyone know what this may be and how to treat it?

Chiro said my c6 and c7 may be effecting it.. he said there is some definite work to be done!

    Any comments/suggestions?

Thoracic outlet syndrome sounds like the cause.
Prolly an impingement on the brachial plexus.

So yes go to a chiropractor or a osteopathic physician that still does manipulation. IMO go to the doc, he has more knowledge than a chiropractor

I would wait, if you need to be manipulated there will be grabbing of the shoulder which would aggregate the fresh tattoo

Yeah definately sounds like a nerve impingement. I used to get impingment of my ulnar nerve when I would lift my arms and shoulders too much. Sounds somewhat similar to what you had. My shoulder somewhat hurt, but most of the time it was my forearm and fingers that would get tingly and numb and occasionally pain. I just had to find out what lifting techniques it was that were causing it, and took a few weeks off lifting, then a few weeks of light training, and I now avoid those lifts that used to aggrivate it. But it took a good 6 months after I found out what it was before I finally got it to subside.

I would still recommend seeing a specialist about it though, just to make sure you get the right treatment. Mine was relatively simple and common. Yours however may be more severe, especially if you say there is limited range of motion in your shoulder.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Weird how that always happens, eh Songdog? I know so many people that tear rotorcuffs and get spinal injuries and the sort, and docs always say they are faking it or making it up. Its rediculous how hard it is to get the proper treatment for injuries these days.

dont listen to that con artist BS, i went to one extensively for back pain, it turned out to be a trap nerve in the intercostal muscles, untreatable and only thing i can do is pain management, chiro would have had me believe otherwise. chiro=guessing game, mostly

have seen them all, have been told its gabapentin etc for life, pain was a delayed onset for 3yrs after a serious car smash, i got badly thrown around and smashed up the right hand side of ribcage. they simple said they'd never be able to locate the exact area

Hes my last chance really though, my deep tissue massages only helped while he was doing them and during my treatment time, a week after I stopped it came back so I dont think anythings majorly wrong so I will go ahead with the tattoo on tues as I think its a nerve issue not shoulder problem, at least I hope..
