I work in the heat as well, building homes. I make sure I carry water around to help regulate temperature. In some cases I have used a platypus water system for carrying water around when having a jug nearby was impractical. Get a boone hat and sew on a viel for your neck. It might seem like too much at first but with water and the fact that your neck & head doesnt get exposed to the direct sun it will really make you feel better at the end of the day. Try also wearing long sleeve white shirts to cover up more. If there is one thing we can learn from arabs its to cover up in the heat to survive longer.
The elevated temperature I have while on test in the sun has never made me feel as though I will get heat stroke sooner, everyone is different though. Have you experienced elevated heart rate while working? I know I have, but if it is a concern monitor it and track your own body's heart rate, only way to surely know.
