^^^ nice bro, that's considered one of their best albums. I personally dig ghost reveries. The Baying of the Hounds is a kick ass song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vjg7dQhARY

^^ completely different styles though bro, kinda impossible to compare. Obituary and MA are classic FL death metal bands, while Opeth is a Swedish band crossing all kinds of genres, death metal, progressive metal, classical, etc. I dig the old bands too, where it all started - but these guys are musically light years ahead in terms of technical chops.

Definitely bro, I dig Obituary! How about Pestilence? Amon Amarth? Behemoth? Children of Bodom....Deicide... etc... just thinking of some others i've liked in the past. Or we can go way back... Venom... Celtic Frost...

Thx mate, will check them out when I get home (at work now).

I'm just now starting to check out Novembre - very technically savvy talented band, if that's your thing. Check em out on YT if interested.

Deicide I like but more kinda have to be in the mood for them to be honest haha there not something you just lash on to listen to imo. Behemoth aren't bad now to be fair. Obituary I like because their music just truds and truds some more it's unreal. I wish they would re record the early stuff though the recordings back when they did em where complete muck lol.

Great song or chopped in half is unreal You can hear the fans that they had on while recording if you have a good stereo.

Steve Wilson of The Porcupine Tree produces some of their stuff. I will have to check out some Opeth
