    android tablet help

so after getting more and more ebooks im looking for a tablet/ebook reader to make life easier so i dont have to have them on my comp anymore.

i used to be in touch with rooting android (HTC EVO) but i havent done any of that in a long while.

    What do yall reccommend getting?
I want a larger one (8+ inch) that can read pdf, pdb, compiled HTML help files (diff versions of ebooks i have) if i have to i can try to figure out how to convert them all to pdf files.
also would be nice to have it be fast and responsive to touch multitouch would be nice.
oh has to have microSD card slot
android 2.3/honeycomb/rootable with a custom rom would be good also (so i can have some fun on this along with using it for books)
and a decent battery life (so im thinking over 4000 mAV)

Does anyone here have any suggestions? thanks!

LOL, you sound like me; once I decide to get something it's usually a short time before I make a decision and get it.

That tablet from Red China might not be all that great, it might end up being more frustrating to use than anything. I have a Motorola Xoom Wifi, I got it before the price drop to $499, but I still love it. It's got everything you listed in your requirements.

There are no real Honeycomb ROMs because Google has not released the source for the kernel, and probably won't as Ice Cream Sandwich is coming out later this year. I feel like thats when you'll see development take off for Android tablets. ICS is going to span the gap between Android phones and tablets, it will be the OS for both phones AND tablets...they are trying to cut down on all the fragmentation of user experiences.

I find myself using my Xoom for most of the things I was using my phone for. It's great for browsing while in bed, reading e-books, toilet reading/games, works as a sick navigation device in the car, and it's even better if you have a rooted phone that has mobile hotspot capability (that you don't have to pay for). Before I bought it, I couldn't justify a reason for the purchase other than "I want it", now I use it all the time, every day.
