Running a DHT blocker when running DHT derivative steroids

Does anyone here run some finasteride and/or dutasteride when going on a blast of DHT derivative steroids to help reduce hair loss?

To what extent does it effect gains?

It will help you not loose your hair, that's about it. I would suggest being on the Proscar for at least 6months before hitting anabolic's because it takes a while to get into your system.

Wow yea I completely forgot about the whole time delay to get steady blood plasma concentrations going

Looks like long term DHT blockers or forget about it

Finasteride is only active for a matter of hours. There is no delay in effect.

However, they won't do shit against DHT derivatives, since they only bind up the 5a-r enzyme.

It depends of the DHT steroid analog. In high enough levels some DHT analogs can promote hair loss due to secondary binding.

Finasteride stops the conversion of test to DHT from the 5AR. If you are running DHT based gear there is no conversion needed and Finasteride wont help.

Get some Nizoral 2% which blocked Androgens at the receptors.

nizoral works great for stopping inflammation which causes hairloss...it basically gives your grass some better dirt to grow in...and a DHT blocker would do almost nothing to stop hairloss by a DHT derivative.
