    Expired Creatine.

Hey fellas. I got a little slack and took some time off and my creatine expired in July 2011. So nothing too serious. But I've been taking it for almost 3 weeks now. I'm not sure if it lost any of its potency or not. I'll probably use it for another little bit because it seems to still be helping, but either way I'll pick up some new stuff very shortly. Just wanted to hear your thoughts guys on the shelf life of creatine and if I can get away with a few months over the expiry date before it breaks down into creatinine. Thx fellas

creatine has a self life of about 4 years...but if its not top shelf stuff, it may have some impurities (the more impurities = fast expires), type of storage is a factor (dry climate = longer)
experation dates are a suggestable date on everything and usualy are for a sell by date, not consume by. ~ however Im sure the longer past expiration date the less effective cuz creatine is a very unstable molecue...all from my understanding, but than again I could be completly wrong lol

suggestion...order it online, even have on amazon...waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheeper than in stores. on some of the supp and powders we use, we have seen as much as a 400% mark up in the stores!

Thank u for the quick reply. I certainly don't mind buying some stuff anyway...just didn't wanna chuck it out if it's still good (and it seems to be thus far). But yea, the longer that the date passes I start to question it lol. I think that this particular brand only had 2 yrs, which isn't a whole ton of time really. I'd like to think it's more of a marketing ploy, so I figured it'd be safe to stretch the expiry just a bit. Just wanted to ask the experts But yes, I'll certainly order some online anyway. Thank u again for your reply. I appreciate it
