I already commented in your thread, but will reiterate here - we all do it Slim, well 99% of us anyway (maybe not Fireguy, lol). IMO, like Stem said, if you're gonna cheat/binge, go all out. I've made the mistake of trying to 'control' my cheats, which is almost a complete contradiction - i.e. have a few of these, but not that... or hold off on this, but have that, etc. Well, the next day I not only felt like shit from cheating (mental more than anything), but was also pissed that I didn't at LEAST have my fill! I found myself saying "DAMN!!! Why didn't I have this or that when I 'could have'!!".

So, I say cheat, go nuts, get it out of your system, then get back on the wagon. Minimal damage done, again, over time it will mean nothing.

Nice binge though...I agree with GB...it is what it is, dont dwell on it, just get back on track and use the guilt as motivation for and extra session of cardio or something to wipe out any remaining guilt. I find for myself if i have an exceptionally bad binge I am pay even more attention to my diet in the weeks to follow said binge.

    Love it!
Have discussed the harm with this with several people, and there will always be a divide. So I say go all out whenever you want.
In my personal experience, it has done nothing to take me off my path towards my goals. Some even say it helps you.
I´m a 12 BF, and even a weekly binge will never change that.
    Keep up the good work

Slow down there buddy!!! This advice is kind of irresponsible when you think about it! Number 1, just because binging when you feel/want to hasn't derailed you (God bless you btw, lol), doesn't mean it won't have a serious negative impact for others who follow this advice. I know for me personally, if I were to binge even one day weekly (and I have, plenty in the past), I would never (and didn't while I was binging) reach my goals.

Number 2 - whenever you want? What if I 'want' to binge every day? Sure, that's extreme - but your statement leaves it wide open to interpretation. A planned cheat would be the way to go IMO.

Number 3 - this mindset, overall, doesn't promote healthy habits. It promotes giving in to temptation, being controlled by food (a fuel source if you want to get right down to it's true purpose), and haphazard eating habits. Don't get me wrong - i'm all for a break, enjoying life a little, etc. But for people who want the body of their dreams (hey, I do), it requires serious dedication for 99% of them. Sorry, that's just the way it is. If it were so easy and laid back, everybody would look good, but they don't. In fact, the majority of people walking around look AWFUL.

ps - I don't mean to sound like a dick, or picking on you/calling you out, but too many lurkers/newbs read this stuff and will see a comment like yours, take it to heart, and then wonder why in 3 months they're still fat. Then they'll post up their shitty diet here for critique and we'll all have to beat them down for it anyway.

Thats the attitude! Remember your only one meal away from being right back on track! Just make it your next one! If u need to plan out the next couple after that one and have them ready to eat to assure you get back then do it. . You'll get right back into the groove.

Yeah....whenever u want assuming you are a level headed person using common sense, without a history of emotional issues affecting eating habits. Then it need to be controlled and planned.
I forget sometimes on his board I´m not just posting to a few names in a "room", but in a public place potentially viewed by thousands from all walks of life, with a range of issues.
Mindset....healthy habits...I say, be careful with both yours and my viewpoints. I agree, binge whenever you want, not healthy if you don´t use common sense.
On the other hand...people should chill a little on the dream body. Listen to the word "dream body", how primitive (we are). How many times haven´t I been there myself going out to eat/drink with friends having diet coke, hiding my protein bar in my pocket (because I feel ridiculous), because I have these insane goals. And parents(you too now ), be careful with the dream body, the mirror, diet talk. The kids absorb everything. My daughter grew up with it from 2 fanatic parents, and she states today, at 16, she can remember way back, being so sick and tired of it.
Healthy and appearance can be very deceiving. Just because you´re single digits BF does not mean you are healthier than one with 30. God knows what some people do to stay single digit. Purely (primitive)appearance, single digits looks incredible. I just dug up a pic of myself from last summer where I maybe was a 10. I look amazing! Important to keep in mind for anybody visiting these boards, this is a "Steroid" board, not a health forum, so here, topics derived from vanity will supersede general good health, and advise and viewpoints here in the diet section is also geared towards BB and to a large degree, hormone use.

I have reviewed why this happened.

I was 1.5 pounds away from losing 30 pounds. Just 1.5. And all of the sudden somewhere my mind told me I was losing too fast. It was like I was not allowing myself to continue this. I had all kinds of mind games going. And since I hadn't really cheated in awhile I self imposed a cheat starting with a business luncheon where the plates were all the same. So of course I took it upon myself to indulge like everyone else including dessert which I had been clear of for months.

So...next thing ya know, later in the day I caught up with a previous flame and we partied all night long starting with Rum drinks then Beer with Pizza. So then after that extravaganza, I proceeded to go to the grocery store and fill up my cart with SUGAR. I am talking marshmallows eaten outta the bag before checking out. And raw Nestles cookie dough and a box of chocolate chip cookies from the bakery plus another box of sugar cookies and a bag of Toll house chocolate chips. I had to cover my chocolate chips from every angle. Already cooked. Already in dough form. And chips for the recipe to be made.
And topped it all off with Haagen Daz.

And continued the next day with more of the same along with Chicken Parmesan and garlic bread. And.... another pint of Haagen Daz.

    Now I feel poisoned. AND.....

    The worst part about this?

    PACKED ON 7 FRIGGEN POUNDS!

YES...you read that right. From Thursday noon until Saturday midnight...just 2 days....... 7 POUNDS!

and I was only 1.5 away from losing 30.....

BOTTOM LINE: SELF-SABOTAGE. Plain and simple.

I can TOTALLY relate. I have SO been there, done that. It's like... I would tell myself "wtf... i'm 180lbs... that's THIN..." and then i'd binge, ignoring the fact that despite being 180lbs I had a flabby belly.

Ok, so this is the point where you went wrong. You got a taste for the 'good stuff', that old familiar feeling, and you suddenly went nuts. Nothing out of the ordinary here. It's happened to me... plenty. You and I are both carb junkies. Better yet, sugar junkies. Junk food junkies. We are the kind of people who are better off NEVER having it (not saying never have it btw, just saying we'd be better off that way) because like an alcoholic or drug addict (we've talked about sugar being an addictive substance, which it is), once we have a taste we crave more, we chase it. And we can never have enough... until we either have a stomach ache, are throwing up, or are so disgusted with ourselves that we sink into a depression.

See where it leads? At least, it does for me. And this new found self awareness, for the most part, has helped keep me on track. I just know that when I see that cookie or whatever, the craving lasts a few minutes, then passes. Once it's gone, I feel like a million bucks. Like I beat it... but when I give it... it's just a downward spiral of MORE binging, and then the guilt sets in which is probably the worst part of all, for me. The self loathing and beating goes on for days. I'll admit it here, I have literally pinched my own fat until I nearly passed out... digging my fingers into it, punching myself in the stomach with everything I have... just to 'punish' myself. Yea, i'm sick.

Like, why stop now... you've already ruined everything. Is that how you felt?

Water more than anything else. No worries. 3 days back on the wagon and this will take care of itself. Extra cardio. Drink more water. As much as it seems to be the case, this is not the end of the world, and it will pass.

You've set yourself back a few days... to get back to your starting weight of 1.5lbs away - perhaps you've put on a true .5lbs... no biggie. Not justifying your behavior, just being realistic and trying to help you see that it's not as dark as it looks/feels, right now to you. I know this feeling VERY well.

Yes, but the great thing about this is... tomorrow is a new day. Right now is a new minute. It's never too late to start again. Nip it in the bud. No more guilt, or self pity. Get back on the wagon. You have work to do.

Sorry to hear all this, not that it happened, but that the guilt over it had such an affect. It's like this, in the course of a football game sometimes there is a fumble, now if you are on the field in the middle of this game, you need to pick up the ball and run towards the goal line. In the middle of the game is not the time to concern ourselves with who dropped the ball or why, but to get control of the ball and move it in the desired direction. You have repeatedly and consistently shown the will power and work ethic to do exactly that and be an incredible encouragement to others to do the same. You will beat this. I loss of yards certainly doesn't cost you the game, it just affects which play you call on the next down.

You are loved, respected and appreciated greatly, not because you are perfect in every choice you make, but because you are honest and real and you keep on keeping on no matter the obstacle!
