Lifting Twice in one day, Bad?

I currently workout during my lunch break, with 2 kids, and working an hour from home, plus heavy sports schedule after work I have found the only way I can work out 5 days a week is during my lunch break. It works out with deducting driving, changing and shower to 35 good minutes of lifting. My question is, sometimes I have the chance to also lift at home after work with my small home gym, and in theory would like to utilize the time and just hit the same muscle group I hit earlier in the day again. Is this wise to say ex. lift chest 35 minutes at lunch, then hit it again for 40 minutes 6 hours later?
    Thanks,
    Jax

jax... remember your muscle is rebuilding the torn tissue on the off time. It is in the repair stage... while I remember kids doing biceps 2 times a day for 5days a week as a kid... it is not the approach you want to implement as a permanent routine. Now many elite athletes train twice a day. Usually it would be a different part or doing cardio. For building muscle and strength it is recommended and proven to give it adequate rest in between. I wouldn't think it is a great idea if your goal is to build muscle.

    Thanks

I was guessing that's what I would hear, so Maybe Chest at lunch, and if I get time after work do Tri's.

It's OK if you are under 20. That age group are the only ones that can recover from that type of workout. Everybody else needs rest time to let the muscles recover and grow.

silly thing to do, what do you think assists pecs to push that bar up? and you're proposing to hit them later that day? train each group properly once a week

I agree with Dec11... I don't think anyone should do that twice a day regardless of age. It will still be counter productive regardless of age. What I stated about kids, that was to say that only little kids that have no idea do silly things like that. Not that it should be done. lol

If you do your routines right the first time, no need for a second time same day. in fact, it is counter productive

    exactly.

ppl who get paid for this lifestyle take copious amounts of drugs therefore THEY are physically equipped to recover ALOT faster to do same day splits, and this would never be chest/tri's etc, it would be more like, am: quads, pm: bi's etc.

my advice would be to stop reading garbage in those mags, they are just a big BS advertisement for supp companies who use drug enhanced ppl to sell their BS concoctions
