Working Out While Sick With Cold

I have a dumb question. I went to the dr today because I have a bad cold that has turned into respiratory infection. He gave mean antibiotic and I said thanks, I am dying to get better so I can go back to the gym. He responded by telling me it was a myth that I couldn't train and as long as it wasn't at 100% intensity then I could keep going. So here is my question. Does anyone else train when they are sick? I've always assumed that my body needed rest and I would get better faster if I just took the week off.
Its killing me to miss a week while I am 4 weeks into my cycle.

i once worked with a PT who was a top national distance runner, his philosophy was to check his BP and if it wasnt too far out, he'd go ahead and train.

imo, if its a light cold go ahead but dont hit the weights as hard as you normally would. on a heavy dose and your is, i'd wait it out and eat plenty of fresh fruit

I think I may wait it out a couple of days until the antibiotics kick in. My fever just went back up. Thanks for the feedback guys.
