    Shoulder and Bicep Tendanitus

Anyone have any experience with these? My shoulder has been bothersome for years now but nothing I couldn't handle and only slightly hindered my lateral raises. I just had a BJJ competition Saturday and after, my shoulder really bothered me (despite not having any arm attacks). My lifting was weak due to the pain so I went to the doctor and I figured I'd need an MRI. But the doc felt around and said I had tendanitus (my biceps don't hurt and I'm able to do curls just fine, but where the bicep connects to the shoulder is a painful area). I have anti-inflammatory meds. Just curious any others experiences and how long it took to get bother, etc.

    Thanks.

I had issues in my elbow, most noticeable when doing reverse curls. this was june before last. I also had a torn muscle in the back of my left leg. I admitted defeat and took several months off completely, just to heal. I'm glad i did, because I really don't think it would have went away on it's own. Yeah, it's painful to wait, watching all those gains slowly evaporate. But I don't know any other way around it, if I want to heal.
    good luck!

Sounds familiar. It takes time to heal, lots of PT, trying different natural options as well as other things like anti inflammatory like you. It took 3 months before mine started to get better, up until then it was getting worse. i still have a couple of months to go probably if I dont screw it up. I can even hear the tendon and shoulder making noise when I do curls. Not just clicking but kind of a ripping sound but I'm sure it's just the tendon moving/stretching, not actually anything ripping; I hope.

Thanks guys. I was worried at first of a mis-diagnosis but seems the anti-inflams are working. Feels better but still painful. Havn't lifted in a week. I'll prob give it this week and then see about light workouts. Sorry I didn't see the sticky on the subject before I posted.

man, if its the same as what i have and it sounds likely, give it alot longer than a week, ive resigned myself to stop 30% of my workout schedule after jousting with this for a year now.

Cool man, Dec11. I have not stopped my BJJ training (big competition next weekend) and during training it feels fine except if I extend my arm over my head (which shouldn't happen anyway.haha). As everyone here knows, we all know what we SHOULD do but we rarely have the will power to NOT go to the gym.. Kinda funny that we are totally opposite of about 85% of the world that doesn't have the will power to GO to the gym..
