    training a bodypart 3x a week

i have a very weak chest and i really want to balance out my body's proportions by next summer.. im wondering if training my chest three times a week would be harmful and/or wasteful in terms of building muscle and filling out my chest.. i would not be on any gear because of my age(20), but would be eating clean and doing cardio.. and i do not mean training chest 3 times a week forever i just mean until i see that its coming back into proportion and then start scaling it back to two times a week then back to one or two times a week to maintain..

    Viking,
3x a week is called "over training" and will hamper your gains. Remember, growth does not occur except at rest. Hit each area once a week, and if you really want to concentrate on a particular area, as you have mentioned, then 2x a week... max! Space it out evenly so that each time the chest gets a couple days rest.

Go to the exercise section here: http://forums.steroid.com/forumdispl...KOUT-QUESTIONS

and examine some of the routines used by the vets. adjust as needed for yourself.

    Good luck!

absolutely not, you'll end up over training and poss injuring yourself. hit it hard once a week. your delts and/or tri's could be taking the strain off your chest, try pre-exhausting chest with flyes before pressing movements. i'd highly recommend dbell presses over barbell also
