Hi.
I'm on my last leg of a cut and will start bulking soon. I've been doing the Leangains RPT workout and while I haven't really improved my lifts during my cut I haven't lost much strength along the way.
I'm a bit undecided if I should just scrap RPT completely and go with a bodybuilding type workout or if I should just continue my workout and add a few more reps/sets.
Here is what my workout looks like now:
Mon
Deadlift 1x4-5
Chins 2 sets to failure. (I hit 7 and 6)
Overhead press 2x6-8 RPT
Pendlay Rows 3x5 (don't do RPT with these)
Close Grip Chins 2 sets to failure.
Wednesday
Barbell bench press. 2x6-8 RPT
Dumbbell incl press 2x10-12
Barbell Curl 2x 10-12 sometimes RPT, usually just for pump.
Skull Crushers (behind head) 2x10
Friday
Squat 2x6-8
Leg Curl 2x10 lately been doing GHR instead.
Leg Extensions 2x10
Abs, two sets, lately been doing the ab wheel roll out.
with RPT the first set is a max (always try for PR) and second set is 10-20% less. Double progression method for weight weekly increases.
I'm wondering if I should just stick with this (adding sets reps) while transitioning to more calories and trying to increase these lifts or if I should do something that's more efficient at putting on muscle hypertrophy.
Thanks
