Any point to doing two different splits on the same muscle a week

You know how you can do a curl a million ways.. like a dumbbell bicep or hammer curl, a rope curl, a cable w/ handle curl, a straight bar curl, a preacher bar curl. My question is simple.

On a working each body part x2 days a week split, would it make sense to ever do a totally different set of exercises on the alternate day? It popped into my head because I want to work biceps tomorrow but my biceps and forearms still feel lit from 3 days ago. So I figure maybe hit them different ways than the previous workout. What do you guys think?
