protein shakes vs protein food source...

i am a young college student that is extremely busy with school and work and i find it hard to get every single meal in with a protein food source.. i will have a protein postworkout but i was thinking of maybe having 2 other protein shakes throughout the day with maybe a cup of oatmeal

is this gonna be detrimental to my gains?

im 6'1 200lbs trying to get 250+ grams of protein in a day and just find it next to impossible to do it on my schedule.. ive tried to do the whole cook meals in advanced but honestly im not trying to compete or anything like that so im not trying to get on that level..

A blended protein powder with a combo of whey, egg white and casein is the way i would go. Not whey alone.

I agree, I do that when I'm on out too, half scoop of whey and casein. fast and slow digesting protein with few piece of wholemeal bread. cheap and easy bro.

x3 on the blend. Don't worry as much about your sources, worry more about hitting your macros and staying disciplined. I've found that I made better progress when I was disciplined regardless of protein source - and I've had some days where 4 out of 7 meals were via protein powder and a bit of cottage cheese.

4 out of 7 seems high. I am assuming that it's a blend for those and not whey shakes.

I don't use straight whey for anything, including PWO.

Cooking meals in advance is the only way I can stay on target with what I'm suppose to eat. If you fell to plan, you plan to fell.

    No straight Whey

Just curious as to why you never use straight Whey? You sound like the shit when it comes to nutrition. I don't have enough posts yet to look at your profile, can you tell me your blog link so I can look at it?

    thanks

You don't have to be at competition level to eat right. I suggest buying some tupperware and eating out of those. The drinks are good for busy people like yourself, and i was there once too. But i lost out on gains having to rely on drinks. Plus, those powders are more expensive than food. And you being in college, that should be a concern i would think. Are you hungry again about 30 minutes after your drink? I was.
