Thread: am i overdoing triceps ??

    Thumbs up am i overdoing triceps ??

    okay so im training triceps 2ce a week, monday with chest and thursday with shoulder
    monday session goes
    chest & tricep
    flat dumbell press 4 sets 6-10 reps
    incline dumbell press 4 sets 8-12 reps
    dumbell flies 3 sets 12 reps
    cable crossovers 3 sets 12-15 reps
    dips 3-4 sets 6-12 reps
    skull crushes 3 sets 6-12 reps
    overhead tricep extensions 3 sets 6-12 reps
    i pyramid my reps starting on 12 and increasing the weight for 6 reps on last set

    then thursday after shoulders i also train tricep
    bench dips 3 sets 12-15 reps
    cable rope pressdown 3 sets 12-15 reps
    overhead cable extension 3 sets 12-15 reps

    i dont feel like im overdoing it but what do you guys think ??

    I would just train them directly on Thursday with shoulders since they are getting hit indirectly on chest day.

    If your fully recovered I don't see a problem. Are your tri's a body part that's lacking he we the twice a week training?

    I would do chest by itself. Your tri's get hit when doing chest. I have a delt/arms day where i pretty much hit everything till i can't go anymore and it seems to work ok. But if you're recovered then give it a go for a while. Then switch to another routine and see how you like it.

    I do my triceps and chest on the same day because doing chest hits them a little extra, I figured it would be bad for them to get worked on chest day then have them worked again on their own day, Ive always been afraid of over training them.

    As long as you have a few days between chest day and tri day, you won't overtrain your tris. Tris recover quickly.
