How to find a good doctor?

I'm not fishing for a source/doctor.

I just changed insurance, and now I'm tasked with finding a new doc. I can go back to my old one, but he's over an hour away, and won't test for estrogen or prescribe hCG. It's a damn shame too, because past those 2 issues he's literally perfect (testing free, bioavail, and total test, multiple bloods drawn during each injection period, lipid tests all the time, etc etc)

I got this MASSIVE list from my insurance on who's in my network, but does anyone have any other tips?

Some suggest you call the doctors office and ask to talk to the doctor's nurse, asking if the doctor is following, or willing to follow Dr. Crisler's treatment methods. That's a long shot...I bet many endos have not heard of John Crisler. Another tactic is to call a few compounding pharmacies and ask them which doctors they have prescribing test. along with an AI and HCG for their male patients.

If you can find an anti-aging doctor on that list...well, that might be your best bet...but most insurance companies don't reimburse to anti-aging doctors...that is, they just are not in the network.

I am in the same boat. I was prescribed Test Cyp but my Urologist wouldn't prescribe HCG or AI. I then went to Endo and the result was the same NO AI and NO HCG. Neither of them knew who Dr. Crisler is.
I may go to anti -aging clinic or I may bite the bullet and fly to Michigan to see Dr. Crisler. Not sure what to do?

I was very lucky, and to be honest got put on TRT because of other reasons. First anemia that was not resolved by iron pills, or partially resolve but went down after quitting the pills, low energy, always tired.

My medical doctor who gave me prolotherapy saw that i did not respond to the treatment as i should have so he decided to give me test E.

As many here say you need to shop around and not waiste your time with an incompetent idiot, there are many out there.

I have been given 200ml per week which is a big dosage to start at, both my medical doctor and pharmacy help me a lot with the zillion questions i had with this, to injecting sites, high dosage and more.

As much as being on TRT and testosterone is exciting, its very important to have a competent medical doctor that follows you every step of the way, runs blood testing, re-adjust dosage if need be, and change injection time.

Also my medical doctor as 15 years experience in TRT and been putting lots of people on Test E and androgel, he said that the max between injections is 10 days, the pharmacy confirmed the same thing, everyone is different in the way the body eats up testosterone. Some might need to inject twice a week some might be ok every week.

I Still say going through a general practitioner would be the best bet. Call around on the list and ask if any of them have extensive TRT experience. If you find some that do, give them a call and ask if they use hcg/AI in their protocols. If they chuckle/scoff/ask "use what?", move on

you can then check with local compounding pharmacies, if you call them and ask they will give you names of the guys they know of that specialize in TRT.

Lastly, and probably the easiest way to go is to look up an anti-aging clinic and go on in. If you shop around you may find some that still take insurance too, thats what I did and they cover everythign like a regular doc visit. if not, you are going to have to come out of pocket, or feel like crap forever...

i wouldnt waste my time asking if gp's have EXTENSIVE experience...just ask if they prescribe the meds you need if one is deemed medically necessary

Called a billion docs on the list, not one returned my call.
Tried the medical plaza at my local college, and apparently 2/4 of their endos do TRT.
Found one with tons of availablity, and took the appointment on 12/19 (between work and vacation, that's the soonest I can get in). Unfortunately, they won't tell me meds prescribed over the phone.

I figure 1 of 3 things will happen:
1) He's a retard and will only prescribe AndroGel, Testim, or the pellets
2) He is cool with my current 100mg a week of Cyp and will refill my Rx as necessary. That'd be awesome, since I will run out in another 30 weeks or so.
3) He knows exactly what he's doing and is willing to prescribe hCG and test for the necessity of an AI.

Obviously, #2 is the most likely situation. Even if he falls into category #1, I've found that most of my other docs were willing to continue my Rx of Cyp, even though they preferred AndroGel. If he doesn't prescribe AI/hCG, then I can continue my search for a doc that does.

Found a local AA clinic that accepts insurance. Only issue is that they require in-office visits for injections, and self-injection in "limited cases." With work and vacation alone, nevermind convenience, that'd present a bit of a problem. I'll just keep them in mind.
