anti slash gloves

was wondering if any of you american military guys have used these or know anything about them:

Damascus DSO100 Operator Tactical Special Ops Police Gloves Kevlar


they are x3 cheaper than anything similar i can get in Britain, and after hearing about afew knife incidents on doormen where im doing doors they'd be a wise precaution i reckon. cheers for any info on their suitability and performance

The back of the hand is pretty well protected, although, a hard enuf chop from a sharp enuf blade will get through. The palm side doesn't offer much protection, at least not enuf IMO. Also, they're pretty rigid, makes it difficult 2 manipulate small / precision objects, like a trigger (cant feel it) Has it gotten that bad where u r bro??!?

well im encountering more doormen on diff jobs who hav had a blade pulled on them, they wont work without a vest now. i was never that paranoid tbh, but i guess it never happens to you until it does.

one lad in particular had a guy walk past him say hello and extend his hand as if to pat him on the stomach, the doorman felt wetness and looked down , the cvnt had sliced him with a scalpel. alot of scummers carry blades in Dublin. i was told by a Polish guy i worked with that alot of his fellow countrymen carry blades when they go out on the town.

the glove would be more for pulling a knife outa someone's hand

It would probably b well suited 4 that purpose, just b mindful of the softer (leather) material on the palm (softer so u can mak a fist, if they used as much kev on the palm & inner fingers, as they do on the rest of the glove, it would b very rigid & difficult 2 close ur hand)

the owner of the last company i was with showed me a pair of kevlar lined leather gloves, they were just like driving gloves, paper thin and completely pliable. theyd not of given much protection from the cold though

i think all of 'em are more slash 'resistant' than slash 'proof'. obviously if one were to hold one's hand down on the table and propel a knife onto it, it would have to go through

i really don't see the practicallity of any of these mate. i mean if someonee pulls a knife on yo, you try to grab the wrist not the knife.. a vest is def a good idea, gloves are pointles, unless you gt those lead powdered knuckle gloves so no matter where you hit him you will shatter ribs/collar bone/face and knock him cold and just take the innevitable stab to the torso if you miss.

yeah but its much easier to grab the blade than their wrist if your standing face to face plus they're never going to expect that. or if its coming at your face or head you can block it with your hands. also for useful for broken bottles or syringes, had a junkie come walking towards me at close quarters with a syringe b4 on Dame Street.
