I'm sure they sound hideous. I've a got a set of Monitor Audio BR6's in my room all of about 220 watt RMS and they do the job fine as the are floor standers. The car now is a different story that has 2 JL Audio W12D4 subs in a slot ported box tuned to 27hz thing loud. And have a full surrond set up in the spare room for films. 4 Mission M73's a Mission Cneter speaker and BK Elec XLS 200 sub which is 300 watts RMS and a Mission MS 10 Sub which is 150 watt RMS.

i've had monsterstereo systems before.
i've ran biamplification pushing 1000 watts (pionere and fisher amps)
fisher graphic EQ
Dynamic Range expander
the pionere speakers you see
two more technique speakers 15" (we useed to call em bro speakers)
pionere linear track, gear drive turntble
and for a short time i had a high end TEAC real to real

the only thing left out of that system are the speakers
but i've rebuilt, and my new system isalmost as good asthe old
my mits amp runs about 200 wttts continuou at 12 ohm

btw.... i used to build custom enclosres, and they always sounded mch better than anything you could buy. there is a simple reason for that

your speakers (and mine too) have ducted bass ports.. an attempt at capturing some of the "dirty" sound from the enclosre and rediecting that outward. this does two things:
1) increases DB at the expense of good clean sound
2) reduces internal air pressure, there by allowing one to make a less expensive enclosure

the best enclores are ALWAYS an "infinite baffle"
but those enclosures get huge, heavy and expesive

you sacrafice total DB yet gain quality sound

I always liked the sound/base from 10" woofers, much bigger (I use to have 12" & 15") always sounded muddy/soft and not as crisp, hard hitting. I have a bumping system in my 91 VR4 with multiple separate amps for high, mid, low and base speakers. It's not professional series but not far from and better than 99% of the systems out there. Loud enough and clear enough to get me in trouble and put most of the teenagers to shame.

Yes my bass box is proper declensions for my 10s, heavy (fiber-glassed inside) and vented.

It 2x 1,000w US audio amps with 2x 12 inch earth quacks in a custom made 35 liter ported bin and 2x 6-9 explodes ... i did have clarion 6x9s but believe it or not the Sony's sounded better and were more powerful and cheaper.. figger that one out ..

Are those the chrome and clear ones? That's what I have and I went with the clarion, good enough for me. No blown speakers in over 6 years.

There the Chrome ones .. they look nice the have vents in them that light up red also if you look in the top corners of the pic thous Little white things are strobe lights that flash into the boot with Red LEDs above them.. looks sick of a night

Yeah i got full clarion in my daily driver.. head unit and 4 speekers... nothing wrong with clarion.. its just that some ppl say .. "owwwww yuk Sony suck and they sound like shit" but i think mine sound really nice..

That's my set up. 2x JL Audio 12W6D4 sub's running off a 750.1 JL Audio HD amp, with Focal K2P Comp's in the front with Stinger wiring and PG interconnects they cost a bomb them interconnects.
