dizzy after am cardio (empty stomach)

i just started getting back into the gym( im really out of shape)

this was my second time doing hiit cardio on the treadmil this morning and i felt pretty good after but about 10minutes after when i got home i started getting dizzy and lightheaded and am still kind of dizzy an hour later.. i did this on an empty stomach so i thought if i went home and ate breakfast it would help but its only helped a little

i also drank probably 3/4ths of a liter of water before and during the cardio session

    is this normal?

Most likely from low blood sugar due to not eating

are you saying that i may be more susceptible to the low blood sugar issue than others?

because ive read on this forum how advantageous it is to do cardio first thing in the morning on empty stomach..

im just trying to figure out if its because im out of shape or the low blood sugar

try taking some BCAA's before your cardio session, this may help some. you need to get over in the nutrition section and write out a diet and a workout plan. there are plenty of helping people in there that can get you straightened out! in the meantime, get over there and start reading thru the stickies at the top, more info there than you can shake a stick at!

They perform fasted cardio as a way to bypass the first stage of cardio when the body relies on glycogen for energy instead of fat. Ironically this is a non-issue once the body has become conditioned to regular aerobic activity regardless, but that's another story. At any rate, I wouldn't jump to conclusions about your body being more susceptible to low blood-sugar than others just yet, as your symptoms are quite normal assuming you worked too hard for too long with low blood sugar in the first place. I experienced this several times when I was in the Marines due to 5am pt's and I have no issues with low blood-sugar. Unless you're on a quest for single-digit body fat percentages, just make sure that you get some good carbs in before you exercise and give your body enough time to digest them properly.

all the above are good ideas,

If you are trying to burn fat with am fasted cardio, maybe a scoop of protein powder with water before training may do the trick, i used this method with success last year, all may not agree with it, just find what works for you, also add the BCAA's to the protein.
