Seen Urologist.....Outcome was not what I wanted, what do you think?

    As per title guys

Seen the Urologist today after a 17 week wait. He went on my bloodworks from when my Dr took them in September 2011 when they were 10.7 (Range is from 9.6-30.5) The Urologist said I am in the normal range so I dont need treatment. I said how I am suffering from anxiety, lack of sex drive, low moods, always tired, poor erections.......He blamed it all on the anti-anxiety medication I am on being Valium and Citalopram. I said about me having my bloods done any for all my levels like estrogen etc to be checked, he said I did not need it. Then he said he would offer me Testo-Gel for 12 weeks......I mean one minute he is saying no and next offering me this gel. So he is going to write to my Dr to tell him to prescribe me Testo-Gel. I asked if a low dose of Cyp' SQ would help, he replied 'You are not using it for bodybuilding so no' I said how Cyp' is used via SQ for TRT, he said he had not heard of it. I then asked about using Clomid, He then said my time was up with him. So I have to wait for his secretary to write to my Dr then I can get this Testo-Gel. Anyone heard of it for being used for TRT and any good results? Also surely he should have done bloods on me? I do have 20ml of Pharma Grade Cyp' and a load of 50mg Clomid tabs so always have that up my sleeve just in case I need to self medicate. So what does everyone think to my appointment??!!

    what are your stats?
Are you wanting to be on TRT? I would not self medicate if you are looking for TRT?

Find another doctor Brick. Call and interview the staff before making a blind appointment. Read the sticky on it. Good luck.

Well...that's sort of depressing. I see a urologist in about two weeks for a second opinion on my TRT. Hope my visit goes better than yours did.

The testo-gel can raise your levels...but 12 weeks of treatment won't be enough unless he offers you refills of the 12-week supply. TRT is a life-long deal if TRT is what you need. Are you in the US...sort of wondering as it normally doesn't take 17 weeks to see a specialist here.

Your age and any other stats you care to give? Why would he ask you about bodybuilding? My guess is that this doctor isn't "into" doing TRT, or he suspects for some other reason that you don't need TRT, and thus no further labs, or consideration of other forms of treatment.

sorry Brickhouse, really not enough information here. You need alot more testing done but (assumming you are in the US) not a problem finding anti-aging cliic. Use stickies to learn everything you need and just folow your BW. Not only does it seem that too many Dr's have no clue when it comes to TRT, the one's that are mildly knowledgeble seem to be ultra conservative.

Sorry guys forgot to add some of my stats

I live in the UK so have to go through the NHS as I cant afford private. To see someone private here in the UK for TRT is £2,700 which works out at $4,200 USD, this is for 6 months treatment.......I dont have that kind of money.
Due to my symptoms of anxiety, lack of sex drive, poor erections, lack of energy, loosing muscle and gaining weight mid section I saw the urologist for TRT today.
    I am......
    37 years old
    6ft
    216lbs

Only thing on my bloodworks that showed Testosterone was a figure showing 10.7. Now the range for my age is 9.6 - 30.5 so I am very low but in the eyes of the urologist I am still in the 'Normal' range. It is only if I have dropped under 9.6 that I think they would show concerns so for me to get Testo-gel whilst being only a touch over the lowest figure was rather hard......But he has decided to prescribe me Testo-gel......Just wondering what is is like?

Your test is very low and needs treatment.

Look mate, take this for what it is worth, but 2700 sounds reasonable if your mental as well as physical condition are that affected. If after 6 months you see noticeable improvement, then you could safety self-medicate. You obviously need a much better lab workup along with someone who is more concerned about your symptoms.

If only I could afford it bud. I am not working due to anxiety so I am living off £102 per week. I really wish I had some money to see somebody who can do full bloods on me and give me the correct treatment......There again the Testo-Gel may work, been looking it up on Google. I am sure my E2 levels are high as I have so many femine ways.

You are right there Bass.....Bad idea using our health system as a model, it is terrible!

What this Dr has said as in using Testo-Gel, has anyone on here tried it with any joy or heard any stories about it?

this is what i expected, i did try to advise you in your first post , tho tbh im suprised you even got the gel.
all specialist in this country are very wary of prescribing to bodybuilders , anyone who they deem to have used AS is viewed as a drug user (we do however prescibe methodone to heroin addicts (not that i am comparing the 2 ) ) , you reinforced this by asking for shots on your first app with the uro.
the UK and U.S are very different with healthcare , in the U.S you can more or less get any treatment you want if you have the money/ insurance- if one will not prescribe , another will (thats how they make money, its a business)-regardless of whether you need it or not , in the UK you will get treatment only if the doctor deems that you need it- they are on a fixed salary , treating you does not make them money so treating for what they deem as no reason is just a waste in their eyes.
*note , i am not making any judgements on who does or doesnt need treatment , this is simply as i see the two systems work.

*forgot to add :P , the gels work fast (within a few days you should notice a diff) , within 7 days of using the gel looking at my fish tank gave me a hard on, i also felt alot calmer.

Self medicating is a big gamble and would not really advise .. Im sort of cycling TRT with PCT 8 weeks @ a time until i see the endo again . So at least im not destroying my system completely .

low dose just to keep me sane at the mo .
But you need a base line bloods done without any AAS in you so they can get the true readings .. Make sure they do full bloods and not skip any as they did with me to start off with . The uk is a pain when it comes to our mental and physical health .

    Good luck bro

    10.7 (nmol/L I assume) is 308 ng/dl

Brickhouse keep us posted on how this Testo-Gel affects your anxiety, as well as the rest of your symptoms, but I have some form of social and I guess performance anxiety so I'm interested in that.

Seems like the UK is similar to Australia in regards to TRT. I'm was below range on both my blood tests and was still told I have nothing to worry about by the GP.

Hey Brick...take the gel if you can. I have been on gels for most of the 2 years of my treatment. Gels work quite well for some guys and it is worth a try. I expect you will feel better quickly and if so, hope this doctor sees fit to keep you on the gel.

Brick I also agree with jpk and sirupate.I felt way better on the gel compared to not using anything..I just wanted to bring my t level up more and just really wasn't able to do so on t gel alone.
