    Having trouble with my chest

Always been an overweight person so my chest is not at all the greatest. You can see an example in my profile. My question is, when I do chest I always seem to feel that I am working the front of my shoulders more than my chest. So my question is where should the bar hit on your chest with incline, flat and decline? I am afraid I flare my arms out too much. Does not matter if it's a bar or DB I always feel it in my shoulder. I lift heavy so I know I should be feeling my chest but I don't. Just need some help. Oh and it also doesn't matter if I am doing flies either, I feel it in my shoulders. Need some help.

    That's a loaded question.

You hit the top of your pecs, near the front delt when doing inclines. Obviously, your front delt, tris and pecs will get a lot of work on this movement. (Everyone is different and Pec size is largely genetic. My Pecs are big and Wide...so i don't have to focus too much on them....my focus is more arms and legs).

Experiment with all ELBOW positions. Over time you find out that ELBOW position in benching is crucial to not only development but also Max Weight lifted.

IF you feel more work out of your delts when FLAT benching, you are going to high. Lower the bar towards the lower part of your pecs. Same with Dumbells.

Many PPL i know don't even Flat bench anymore because of shoulder injuries.

Maybe you should try Declines, Dips and Cable Crossovers until you develop your chest more. Also, try the Smith Machine for inclines. Keep the weight light until you develop...else you fvck yourself up. The shoulder's are prone to injury.

Also experiment with hand positons....narrow and wide. The narrow grip, tends to involve the delts and tris more.

    Good Luck!
