...and so the employment/ housing search in the state of ILL beigins for us...help!

We are in NH and have decided years ago to move to Tiger sharks home state of ILLINIOS once we both graduate, however with new life developments plans have been pushed way forward. Looks like we will be relocating within a year or so.

We were hoping to move to Mount Vernon (southern) area in Ill but it seems like employment is unavailable to us in this area.

Any one in, or know of jobs/connections for parent aides /case worker aides and correctional officers in the southern area of Ill?
Or even real-estate brokers they can recommend?
Chicago seems to best fit both our jobs, but the cost of living is repulsive and the city is way over crowded and disgusting compared to NH or even Boston, we would like to avoid it and the sub districts as much as possible...plus our family is more near St Luis.

Well prob be staying with family till jobs are secured, than seeking rental, home ownership.

I’m a girl that has plan A set up before the situation even arises, and plan B, C and D are always well thought out, ...any info, suggestions, feedback is much appreciated and considered!

Will be seeking 2/3 bedroom
Willing to travel up to 50miles each way for employment
Close to public colleges is a plus
Good high school thats safe …also a plus ...Im more the one concerned with the chicago high schools and the saftey for my 16year old... Trevs just too caring, open, accepting, sacastic, sticks to his values and funny (wounder where her gets it? ) , it does not sit will with mean or angry kids to see they dont effect him, we have had this type of encounter before in MASS.

Here's some nice country towns in Illinois to look into that are within driving distance of STL: Columbia, Waterloo, millstadt, burkesville, redbud, freeburg, smithton, Shiloh, ofallon, and new Athens. They all are pretty decent towns and have great schools. They're within driving distances of colleges and universities.

Look up Chester Illinois. There is a prison their that ts could look into for work. It's called menard. The town is nice but it's about an hour and 20 minutes from STL but Mt Vernon is too so it doesn't seem like that would matter to you.

Scott air force base is out here too and hires a lot of civilians. That could be something to look into.

we were looking in ofallon last year when we were visiting family that lives around caseyvill...really liked! Mount Vernon is def a 1st pick for us, new homes dirt cheep, thanks for the prison name well def check it out! ...and an airforce base ~ interresting, hes a vet soooo that could be a real possibilty
