Of course... and that's regardless of gear. You can up protein while on gear, but there is always a point where your body will use what it can and the rest will be a waste.

There is no definitive answer, everybody is different and has different tolerance levels with protein, much like anything else.

The widely accepted broscience myth about how your body can only absorb 30g of protein in a single sitting is just that - a broscience myth, and complete horseshit. That much I can tell you.

Bottom line is if you are following a proper diet, this isn't something you need to worry about. e.g. if you're eating 6 meals/day and each has you eating 45g protein, you need not worry. If you want to try and cram 200g of protein per meal, good luck. I think you get my point.

Gottcha, I'm asking because I want to know if having a 50g protein shake is too much and a waste, when you could have a 25g shake and make your tub of protein last twice as long? Every meal I have has high protein I'm more concerned with the post work out whey shake !

Without knowing anything about you or your stats, I can almost assure you 100% that 2 scoops of protein isn't a 'waste'. If it fits into your calculated protein requirement, that's all that really matters.

Thanks gb, ya I'm trying to get in over 400g protein a day, so it defiantly fits in my macros, I guess spacing the intake out thru the day is key, some meals are as high as 70g protein tho,

What are your stats bro? Unless you're an absolute beast, 400g of protein is way overkill for you. In fact, that's overkill for most people. When I was 195lbs at 9% my protein intake was 250g/day which was plenty.

It's not a matter of being 'too much', imo it's more a matter of wasted calories that could be better utilized by coming from another source (carbs).

300g of protein would be plenty for you IMO, anything over 350g would be a waste.

Thanks a lot for the advice I will adjust my meals and shakes, I'm also trying to drop BF while gaining lean mass, any thoughts as to what types of foods to add to my diet?
