    Ostrich Eggs

So I'm watching the History Channel's show called modern marvels and this episode is about eggs. Part of it was about ostrich eggs. Apparently one ostrich egg has approximately 2000 calories?? Think about throwing one of those bad boys into your diet daily! Has anybody ever tried one before?

Yeah! After watching it, I'm rather intrigued by them and want to find a place near me to try one.

crazy man.. never heard this before...

An ostrich egg is approx 7" long n 18" around and equivalent to 2 dozen chicken eggs..
2000 calories per egg and approx 47% protein, 45% fat (approx same percentages as chicken eggs)

No joke. This would definitely fall in the cheat meal category.

Had a dog that loved scrambled eggs. U guy I worked with raised emu's and gave me a giant, green egg. I wasn't going to eat it so I scrambled it up for the dog. She went over, sniffed it and walked away. That's gotta mean something...

That's crazy. Hardboiling it would probably make it a lot easier to eat just the egg white and cancel out a lot of the grams of fat in it.
