I recently read an article which suggests that most Western Men make too little testosterone due to Vitamin D deficiency. The science is that vitamin D regulates the genes that are responsible for the production of testosterone in the Leydig cells. It also lowers SHBG, which is a factor in free testosterone levels.
Keep in mind that the Austrian study included 2300 men over the age of 60, so the effects on younger men may vary. You can read more here.
