    Post cycle diet please help

    I posted this question in the nutrion forum but didn't get a response :

    During a test deca cycle I was eating 4000 clean calories a day. Sould I continue to eat this much post cycle? If so, what is the logic behind it. I look good and put on 25 pounds with very little bloat but i have fat around the waist that doesn't seem to subside. I would greatly appreciate any input as I'm dying to hit the treadmill and lower some of my carb intake

    Keep your cals. and carbs up for a couple of months. You'll need your body to get used to carrying the extra muscle. 25 lbs. is a lot to gain and a lot to lose too. You can cut later after you figure how much it takes to maintain. Don't start dieting yet or you'll lose most of it. Also, start supplementing vitamin C at 2000 i.u.'s/mg daily to keep the excess cortisol at bay. Sounds like a good cycle.

    Thanks Titan. I thought about reducing the carbs a bit so i did last week. it's been three weeks from my last pin and I haven't lost any weight. Hopefully it's true what everyone has said about deca transforming your body!!

    What is the rule of thumb in determining calorie requirements when you begin Pct? At that point we're really not growing anymore and looking to maintain our gains. At this point wouldn't it be wise to take to calculate BMR and calorie requirements to maintain what has been gained?

    Yes it is a bulking compound infamous for water retention. I am guessing the OP is not running letro or anything for it. I am guessing on that though. Here this is straight from the Profile Forum.


    Many members of Steroid .com also complain of water-retention with this drug, and again, I’m inclined to agree. Letrozole seems to be a preferred choice to combat this, and it’s my favorite for this use. This water retention would seem to make Deca more suitable for bulking rather than cutting, although it can be succesfully used for either.

    Now for the worst news: Deca is a progestin (as are all nandrolones), unfortunately; it happens to stimulate the progesterone receptor 20% as well as progesterone itself (3), and this opens the door for many possible unwanted side effects (water retention, acne, etc…). It must be noted that most of those are rare, though. This also may be the major reason that Deca is such a suppressive drug when it comes to your natural testosterone levels . We can see from the chart below that a simgle measly 100mg injection of Deca caused a total (100%) reduction of natural testosterone levels , and it took roughly a month to return those testosterone levels to baseline! All from 100mgs of Deca !

    This "calc" should be done before, during and after cycle depending on weight and goals you go from there. During PCT if you do not eat enough you are very apt to lose what you have gained.

    That info was written by a douche bag named Anthony Roberts!! DON"T take Letro unless you are well on the road to having tits. For one thing, it'll make a drain for your bladder out of your dick. For another thing, it doesn't do diddly for progesterone, it's for estrogen. Estrogen isn't a problem with Deca or any Nandrolone. Cabergoline or Prami is what combat's that one. Get it from AR-R at the top of the page. What ever you do, don't take fvcking letro. There's a laundry list of things that fvcks up including but not limited to, gains, libido, erection, joints, etc...... Good luck

    Only speaking from my own personal experience DON'T CUT CALORIES UNTIL WELL AFTER PCT is over.

    EDIT as I wrote the post in haste.

    You need to figure out you TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) That's the amount of calories you need to maintain. You're eating at a surplus to add mass. At the end of your cycle you will need to know what your new TDEE is and stick with that through PCT and IMHO a little while after. Then you can cut calories to lose the fat.
