    Hydration and Muscle Pump for Shoot

    This is primarily directed towards fireguy but anyone else is more than welcome to chime in.

    My photoshoot is rapidly approaching and I think I have my prep down (for the most part). The only thing I am still unsure of is what to do the morning of.

    I have decided to take fireguy's advice and continue with my carb cycling and wont manipulate carbs. I'm timing it so I have the shoot the morning after my high carb day. I have also decided to cut water late the night before (8 or 9pm) as usual. Typically I will wake up around 6am and I am ripped to my satisfaction but a little small. I drink a litre of water, do my cardio, have my oats and egg whites and then I am filled out again with a little definition lost. I also get massive pumps.

    My question is...if I cut water and don't have any water until the shoot (10 am) will I still be able to pump up effectively? I know that if I have between 1 and 2 cups of water with my carbs I will have no problem. But I also want to come in dry. What would you do? The last thing I want to happen is to come in small and not be able to do anything about it.

    This is me around about 8pm after a leg workout on a high carb high water day. I feel like I look pretty good here. I dont have a pic of me in the morning (not a recent one anyway, but essentially I am smaller with a little more definition in the abs and less vascularity.


    Should I aim to achieve this ^ by 10:30am? How do I do that??

    Looking lean bro, how much cardio do you do a week?

    I've never done a preshoot/contest prep but heard Arnie and Ronnie besides cutting out their water intake for that day also drank a cup of coffee and took a shot of vodka before hand. Science behind it is both are diuretics. Crazy shit, hope someone with some actual experience can help you out.

    I do 45 mins in the am 30 mins in the pm for a total of around 800 mins a week.

    What are your future goals besides getting ready for your photo shoot?

    Well I feel a fool...math was a little off lol. Around 500-600mins

    Haha believe me it takes quite a bit of encouragement in the mornings.

    Thanks a lot! And I've been cutting since January. But the first few months it was half the amount lol

    As for goals...Honestly haven't thought about it. I've been so focused on this shoot

    Anaval, thanks for posting the pic. I'm sure Fireguy will appreciate it too and chime in shortly. Sadly, I am out of my realm of expertise as I have never cut water/carbs for a photo shoot or bb competition. I will say you look pretty full and as if you're not holding much water in your pic...maybe you're on to something here. Maybe you can post a pic of a low carb/water day in which you feel like you're flat for us and Fireguy to compare. Can I ask what kind of photo shoot this is?

    Ok. I'll get one on here either today or tomorrow as today is a high carb day

    Do you know about what your BF% was in January? I'm trying to do a lean bulk for the majority of my cycle. At the end, I want to trim up for summer though. Just trying to figure a target date.

    BF% in January according to bod pod 19%.

    In a sense yea and no...as time went on I added more and more cardio, so I kept burning at a constant rate but i was doing more and more every month.

    Ive only implemented clens for the last 2 months...2 weeks on 2 weeks off 2 weeks on then clen + keto for the last 2 weeks. Before that it was ECA 2 on 2 off

    Ok Imola, fireguy and whoever can help out...Here are 3 pics. The first is me at the end of a workout on a high water, high carb day, the second is me in the morning, pretty much every morning, and the third was me this morning after I cut water, took in 4oz sweet potato, 3oz chicken breast and tried to get a pump.



    Obviously the high carb, high water is my best bet. How do I get there by 10AM???

    Here's what I ate that day:

    8AM- 1/2 cup steel cut oats, 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 scoop whey, 1 litre water, 250ml Eggwhites raw
    10AM- 3 slices ezekiel bread, 1 tbsp natural strawberry jam, 6 oz. chicken breast, 500ml water
    12PM- 2 slices WG bread, 6 oz. chicken breast, 500ml water
    3PM- 1/4 cup steel cut oats, 6 oz. chicken breast, 1 litre water
    5PM- 4 oz. sweet potato, 1 scoop whey, 1 litre water
    6PM- Post workout- I took the pic here
    the rest of my food followed...
