how do you guys go about handling an altercation in public?

I was at a hockey game last night and my loud ass friends were yelling shit for one team, the guys in front of me yelling for the other team. Eventually one of my friends told a guy to sit down and he claimed he'd "come up there" in a few minutes to deal with that. Meaning he was going to confront us...so he turns around, my friend flips him off and he's just standing there. I feel this situation is dumb, I'm too old for it, plus I was a lil stoned so I'm not really feeling a fight. (I'm a big guy and I've been in fights, I can certainly handle myself.) I just look away from him, he's still looking at us, so I stare at him now and he walks away. I felt I handled it fine...if he were to engage me or any of my friends I would have violently attacked him. How do you guys handle these types of situations. (being in my 20s and not really dying for a lawsuit).

I was in a situation like that..... A friend has season tickets to a team I hate but they were playing my team. So we're there and my friend is routing for the other team and a couple guys start making fun of him. My friend is a business man..... he's not a fighter by any means..... so he come sup with a cleaver comeback and the guy goes "fvck you pvssy....." with all these kids around. My friend politely made him feel like a moron and you could see this guy getting pissed enough to come down to us. So I stood up and looked at him..... told him I was his teams fan too and it was just a friggin game..... let it go before things get outa hand..... He did.

Now..... if someone publicly humiliates me..... I'm going to get very verbal..... very fast. I'll cut you down and make you look like a fool infront of everyone - even if I look like the child in the process lol. If you come at me in any way..... i'm swingin. I don't ever want it to go there because like you - i'm not lookin for a lawsuit or jail time..... But I wont take the first shot.

I respect that haz, seems like we're kinda on the same page. I try to never start with anyone because I myself have overcome things like drugs/family problems, etc. and I know that when someone disrespects me I feel like they also disrespect everything I've been through. Thats why Ill never judge someone, you never know what that person has been through or is dealing with. Some people are just so ****ing simple and useless

Nice Gix! I'm goin to some MMA fights tonight, considering the group I'll be with I'm sure there will be an opportunity to stab someone in the neck. Do you wait till they have their dicks in their hand at the urinal or climb over a stall and stab em while they shit.

I actually used to like the chance to let a little blood out of someones nose, I'm old now and much smarter than that, I do everything I can to avoid a knock down drag out. I don't start shit anymore but I will finish it if I absolutely have too.

Thats just it..... I try not to judge people. I hold the door for people.... I offer my seat to a couple that can't sit next to eachother because there anre't enough seats. I try to do the right thing MOST of the time.....

That nice side to me ends when you blatantly disrespect me. I still would rather NOT fight.... but I'm not going to walk away and miss the rest of the game because you threatened me or a friend. Also.... maybe it's because I bounce as a side job..... but i've always got my friends back. I wont let him get pummled under any circumstance but if they instigate a fight..... he will hear about it from me and I wont do that for him again. Treat people how you want to be treated..... if you act like an asshole - expect to be treated like one.

I remember one time I was at the shore with friends and I had just started getting into working out. I was about 175lbs and I was wearing a tee because I was at the shore.... I knew I wasn't big by any means. A group of assholes decide to single me out and tell me to put a shirt on..... I ran my mouth and my friends backed me up. No fight ensued thank god because Idunno if we woulda won that one LOL - we were all tiny bastids. I learned from that experience though. I learned how to NOT treat people. I would never want to tell some kid he's small and needs to put his shirt on.... I wouldn't want to make him feel like shit. Whats it going to get me? Who knows what he'll do.... he might use that criticism as fuel to get big or it might cut him down so much he never wears a tee again. That shit really bothers me..... take what you know and pass it along if someone asks. Help someone out.....

I've learned that the people who get loud and start trying to draw a crowd, most likely are just idiots and probably won't raise more than a finger. usually these people just go back about their business whilst talking trash and claiming to have showed you. First off it depends on you, if you look for trouble that's your own fault.

But this situation can go both ways, for the most part being bigger people look at you as a harder target, less likely to say anything because they are intimidated by you, and your presence can effect it. On the other hand some kids like to make a point, and though they won't come at you solo, they will try to catch you when odds are in their favor by a very large margin, talking more people with them etc. But then again some people just give everyone crap regardless of if they look scary or not because they know you can't do anything about it without it ending much worse for you if you do do anything. Depends on where you live, and the type of people around you. I like being bigger, huge benefits, but I'm not so massive that I stand out as a bodybuilder type.

It really is not worth going to jail for, alot easier to walk away. Self defense is another thing though. To defend and restrain someone being a safer option if attacked when you cant just walk away.
And you never know who you're ****ing with, he could be the next gsp or a drug ****ed person with nothing to live for with a gun or a knife just looking for a way out of the world or a way into prison who knows.
Not worth the bs and how your life can look a whole lot different in a split second.

I used to fight alot, not starting them but doing what I had to do. Now, being older, I think twice because of the concequences, family, job, home, jail time etc. But I never back down and I still hull off and bust a jaw if a guy comes at me running his mouth lol. I grew up in a rough neighborhood and I was taught never to run my mouth, talk is cheap, and also to take care of them before they get you. Now, I try my hardest to avoid a fight and make it home to my family, sleep in my bed next to my wife, and make it to work the next day. You live and learn.

So I throw a perfect spinning back kick and connect right to his head and knocked him comletely out of his wheelchair!

In all seriousness I hate fighting and unless I am physically threatened will not in most instances, conversly threaten someone I love and the shits on.

I agree 100%. Since i am a shorter guy growing up my Tyson TKO move was always a punch a guy in the throat then open a can of whoop a$$. Today I would be afraid to kill the guy

Maybe I was smarter than most, (questionable) but even in high school I though about just that, what if I hit someone and they die?
I know I had hit enough inanimate objects hard enough that I could imagine breaking someones jaw or cheek bone and it scared me to think of the damage you could cause so I always managed to avoid fights.
