    Good Bye Sweet Potatoes :(

We had a good run. I have nothing but love for ya. But I just cant handle the gas anymore!!! Anyone else have this issue? Its been 4/5 yrs and I have finally decided its just not worth it anymore. I have been researching the crap out of it and discovered that they can cause bloating and indigestion in some people. I know they are superior to a lot of other carb sources. But if i switch from sweet potatoes to brown rice, oats, ezekial, fruit i reallllly dont think its going to have that profound of an impact.............I just wanted to give them a proper farewell.

Carbs in general give me major bloating and gas. It's amazing. Over the winter, I was 'bulking' (not really, but adding mass was the goal) - on workout days, I was consuming 450g of carbs. I couldn't stop cracking rats, and couldn't remember what it felt like to have a solid bowel movement (sorry!!).

I've recently begun my summer cut and man... the issue has disappeared, 100%. If you only have this problem with sweet potato, consider yourself lucky!!!

PS - don't I know you from somewhere!?!?

I just upped my carbs after my cut and have the same wind issues. Unless its the fact that I just subbed out my pre workout seer pots for oats!

It's oatmeal for me brother. I can still stomach sweet taters, waxy maze, and rice- but I've had it with oatmeal. Doesn't give me gas, but just the sight of it makes my stomach turn.

You must have me mistaken for someone else, lol.....Yeah i think it is just a matter of increased cals and carbs, bc i just bumped everything up for a month or so to do some Recomp before I start contest prep and INSTANTLY got rancid gas....Maybe I will revisit at 10 weeks out.

I forgot you were an all oats guy. Im contemplating that for contest prep too. Carbs will be 150-175 most the time anyway, so thats what like 2.5 cups of oats a day, i can handle that.

Everything gives me gas. I used to say it was eating cheese but i don't eat cheese anymore. All my carbs now are oats and brown rice and i still keep ripping them out. Could it be brussel sprouts or chicken breast?? I eat that every day.
I'm ripping one out as I'm typing this. The poor guy in the cubicle next to me must be dying.

You could try some bromelain. Not sure if that would help at all.

Damn bro... oatmeal is the only carb I can't live WITHOUT. You and I should go to breakfast one day, lmao!

I was using bromelain (among other digestive enzymes) during my bulk and was still sh!tting my pants. But again, my issue was carbs where bromelain aids in protein digestion.
