    Jaw Muscle Cramps

I have had an interesting problem lately.

When I chew things that take some work (like protein bars or steak) my jaw muscles start to burn and feel full of blood. Almost like they are pumped after a hard workout.

In addition to the full, pumped feeling, my jaw won't open nearly as far as usual which adds to the "pumped" feeling.

This is not chronic. It only happens occasionally when I eat some tough foods.

I will be looking into TMJ (or whatever else pops up as I do some reading) and will mention it to my doctor at my next visit, but thought it would be interesting to find out if this is common.

That is why I so clearly defined my circumstances. It would be crazy to say. "hey, I get cramps in my jaw and I can't open it wide enough...anyone else have that problem?"

I get it a lot more on cycle.

Shit... last winny and tren cycle, it killed me to finish my bowl of ezekiel cereal in the morn.

But off cycle... dont notice it too much.

I think its sort of a muscle pump.

I mean what moves our jaw?

I could be wrong. But it makes sense to me.

I think it is much worse when I am blasting. It feels exactly like a muscle pump.

    I am looking into TMJ.

I wouldn't write off tmj but normally you will get a popping in the jaw when you have tmj. Lower levels of severity may not have the popping tho. Personally I can't take a bite of anything with out my jaw popping. Sometimes it will lock for a half a second or do and it feels like someone sucker punched me.

I have heard about the popping, and I definitely don't have that symptom. I have never had my jaw lock and I don't have sharp pain...only that flushed, burning pain that feels exactly like doing a heavy set.

I should keep track of whether my jaw muscles are getting bigger. Maybe I will be the next Tom Platz...have you seen his jaw??

Correct. I don't remember saying anything about the back door. No muscle cramps there.

That's because it is a muscle pump. Why would your jaw muscles (which are skeletal muscles) not experience pumps like the rest of your body when on AAS?
    Don't worry about it.

TMJ causes clicking in the jaw, not pumps.

After three sets of 10 - 15 reps my jaws have just about had it. Apparently I need to cut back on either volume or intensity in order to get through my chewy food. Crap, should I be working this muscle group heavy only once per week?
