I turned 40 in September and had been feeling the effects of low T for some months before that. I was irritable, achy, zero energy, which was driving me to depression, so I decided to do something about it. I went to see my family medicine doctor and she drew blood and ran the full battery of tests. She said my test was "normal", but did note that my vitamin D was really low. So she put me on huge doses of that for a month and it helped some of the aches. I still felt a lot of the symptoms, so I decided to go to a local men's health clinic. That doctor looked at my labs and said that everything we needed wasn't there. So he sent me for more blood work. My 'free' test came back at 3.4 (can't remember the units), but he said he usually like to see it in at least the 8.0 and up range. I do remember that the normal range was from 4.5 - 23.0, or along those lines. So he has put me on Test Cyp injections. One injection a week, which is 200mg/ml. I have more energy now and I'm nowhere near as irritable as I was before.
So about two months into treatment, I had to go see my family medicine doctor about a sinus infection. When they took my blood pressure, it was high. I was about 145/108. I told her that I was put on Test and she wasn't happy about that. She started saying that a lot of the mens health clinics are just there to sell supplements and Test. So over the next couple of weeks, she had me come in, so we could monitor my BP. She ended up putting me in lisinopril and wanted me to go off the Test. I refused, because I really think I need it.
So at this point, I'd really like to roll my HRT into a full blown cycle. Not sure how I would work the PCT in though, since I'm not really supposed to go off the Test completely. Perhaps I could just take a few weeks off?
