    Whey Protein Suggestions?

I've been using ON 100% Whey but it's been causing my stomach to get upset and almost like constipation. In the mornings I can hear it rumbling in my stomach and it doesn't sound good. I'm not even taking that much only 1 scoop a day. Curious if anybody else had this problem and switched proteins?

Switch from Whey Concentrate to a 100% Whey Isolate, I am confident stomach issues noted above will go away.

Give Dymatize Nutrition Elite Whey Protein Isolate a try, it is one of the better designer stuff out there and I can guarantee you will fall in love with the flavor and taste.

Thanks Turk i'll check it out.

A while back I remember reading studies that most people had to switch to Isolate protein because of some milk products in the 100% Whey. Don't quote me on this but something around that ballpark.

The main difference is the whey protein isolate is processed further in the manufacturing of whey protein. The end result is a more pure protein, with much lower levels of lactose and fat. In fact, over 90% of whey protein isolate, by weight, is protein.

The protein availability in whey protein concentrate is more varied and lower than that of whey protein isolate. The levels can be anywhere from 29% to 89%. Whey protein concentrate also is noticeably higher in levels of lactose.

On the more negative side, because of the quality of the protein, whey protein isolate does tend to come with a slightly higher retail price. Also, in biological terms, the filtering process also removes some of the alpha lactoglobulins and lactoferrins that are important immune boosters.

Whey protein concentrate does tend to cost less than when protein isolate and is also lower in the levels of cholesterol.

    Love that stuff!

I had been using the ON Gold Standard Whey for 5-6 yrs exclusively until a few months back when I ran out of protein n needed some Asap. The local store was sold out n ordering would have taken too long. After a nice little sales pitch n a large discount I hesitantly bought the Dymatize Elite n have been using it ever since. It's better protein, tastes better, n costs less.. it's a no-brainer IMO.. wish I had discovered this yrs ago

I am a no-no when it comes to glossy supplements and hence usually don't care about the brand either but it is really hard to stay away from Dymatize Elite once you are hooked up.

I am also not sure if they were around ''years ago'', I came across with Dymatize only about 2 years ago and I believe their iso-whey is a rather new product.

    Great information Turk,

The lactose was what my stomach was having the problems with. It's weird to because some flavors are worse on me then the others. Seems like any type of flavor with chocolate in it it just rips my stomach apart. I'll be getting the isolate next time.

I only use 100% pure whey isolate...I use Synthepure exclusively.

Agree. Stomach problems are almost non existant now after I switched. Before, I was a farting fool.....

...for constipation, you should really look at how much fiber you are consuming. As a last resort, you can go with psyllium husk fiber. it will clean you out real pretty, and keep you regular.

I picked up some Isolate and problem solved. It was a combination of massive farts and clogged me up a little as well, my fiber intake is good because when the Whey doesn't exist in my diet I shit on a normal basis. This all makes sense because on 2 deployments ago I had a giant tub of whey and it was doing the same thing....may sound stupid but it only occurs in any flavor involving chocolate I've noticed?
