    Contemplating first cycle at 41

I'm a 41 year old with 20 years of weight training experience . At 5'10" and 195 lbs. I'm fairly satisfied with my physique. I would like to cut up a bit, as I am around 16% bf. My goal is to get to around 198 at 10% bf, or lean enough so that my abs are visible.

I separated my shoulder at the AC joint a year ago and recently got my strength levels back to normal plus a little extra. Having always been natural, I'm interested to see how my body will respond to my first cycle.

I have a decent squat and deadlift, going to parallel with 315 for 8 reps, and deadlifting 405 for 6 from the floor using only chalk.

I would like to do some research so that I may do this in the safest way possible.

Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks to all.

    Welcome to the board mate!
Couple of things to think about. Probably a good time to go get some full blood panels prior to your first cycle. this will be your baseline, something you can compare to later on.
We regularly sugggest that our new members post their diet in the nutrition section, complete with macros per meal and macros per day. The idea is that all benefits and results start first at the kitchen table. I suggest you do the same so we can maybe make some suggestions for improvement.
Remember to have your PCT all laid, including your gear, prior to any cycle. "Things" happen, and not having your pct ahead of time could mean not having it ready when you need it.
    Good luck

Thank you, Roman. Will post my diet. What is the rationale behind getting blood panels done, and a general idea of the expense?

    Welcome mate.
Age isn't on our side, well not me anyway and AS wreaks havoc on our bodies. Blood count early on will give you a clear indication as to what your body is doing right now, Naturally so to speak. If and when you dip in to the AS world then at the end of your cycle and pct you should be looking at getting bloodwork done to make sure you've recovered in all the right areas. Having the initial bloodwork prior to you first cycle will give you the reference point to know if you're ok or not. It is by far the best protocol mate. Good luck
