    Diet for construction worker

Hello I work in construction and it's hard for me to eat correctly and follow any type of routine. So I was wondering if you guys had any hints on how do eat better without the use of a microwave or stove during the day. Or what foods can be make in bulk and stored to be spilt up during the week for lunch and breakfast.

Many on here myself included cook up and pack away at least enough meals for a few days if not the whole week. On Sunday I usually cook about 6 lbs of chicken breast and pack it up in Tupperware. That gets me through the lunches but I still make my breakfast and dinner fresh every day. I'm in a similar situation with work so I either eat it cold or during the summer months the windshield of your car makes a good heater for a hot lunch. I've baked sweet potatoes a few days out with good results. Tried rice but after a couple days it started drying out pretty bad. Now I just have oats for carbs. Only take a minute in the microwave so I can make enough for the day while I cook my eggs for breakfast.

I work 12 hour shifts without access to a microwave or other heating devices. I pack my food for the day in a cooler. Best advice I have is to get used to eating food cold. I don't even mind it now that I've been doing it for so long. I've even read that microwaving can destroy a foods nutritional value so there's an added bonus to eating it cold. Some food like flank steak (marinaded well) can taste absolutely delicious cold.

^^ agree with head.. i actually ate broccoli frozen for about 3 months.. what u choose to eat and the length u go to to make sure u have the proper food with u is completely based on ur commitment.. make food ahead for a few days.. put in tupperware and bring with u.. i dont even put mine in a cooler.. leave it in the car and ive never had a prob with anything going bad..

if u need food choice help i suggest posting stats and goals

Did construction for over 20 years and tupperware was my friend too. And i always took leftovers from the night before for lunch the following day. Never had a problem eating cold chicken and steak sandwich or by them self. Cans of tuna was a staple as well. And i prefer pasta salads for my carbs.
