    Hand Reel Push Lawn Mower

Anyone use one of these things? I have a beat up piece of junk gas mower, and it stinks, always makes a mess when dumping the bag, sucks to maneuver, and stopped working, not getting fuel or something. It was sputtering and barely turning yet was still enough to finish lawn with it barely spinning. This gave me the idea that maybe I should try a powerless lawn mower. If it doesn't take that much effort to do.

My lawn is pretty small, and I have a lot of crab grass so in reality it should be mowed twice a week to keep it looking decent. From what I read they really aren't that hard to push, and for 65 bucks I could get a basic one. Vs fixing my mower or buying one that is 200-300 dollars which suck to push around anyways.

I really think I want one of these, takes up less space and wont fling shit everywhere, and maybe I can get by doing more things in my day without taking a shower immediately after mowing the lawn.

Just be ready to rake the yard after you're done.

no need if you have a grass catcher!

I'm thinking you can go to the lawnmower shop and pick up a second hand push mower for $25? no one wants these damn things anymore. everyone is going electric when they want to "go green"

I'm really going to hate having a grass lawn. One of the few things I like about Nevada is how we don't have lawns here.

It keeps things cooler, but i live in the desert still so its really hard to keep it green. Nice for kids to play on, but it attracts other animals which annoy me. You don't always have to rake clippings, you can leave them there, as it replenishes the soil to a degree.

there has to be push mower's for cheaper than that. check out a pawn store if you are looking for something just to get by with or look into some of the lower end models at LOWE's or home depot. i will say this, you get what you pay for

Yeah so if you pay 150 bucks for the cheapest gas mower, its going to be garbage. I would rather get a 500 dollar honda. But its overkill for my small yard, when a 65 dollar deal will do the trick. I went to lowes and home depot, and the cheapest mower i would buy was 200. but its not just cost, I don't think its even necessary to have a gas mower.

I have one and paid about 250. A little pricey but I wanted one that would last as the cheap ones are just that.
It cuts unbelievably nice. It has to be perfectly sharp all the way across the blade to cut nice, so if you knick it on anything you know it right away.
This is my third summer with it now and it definitely needs sharpening.

As long as we have that liberal Steve Urkel in the White House, they're not going to build any new nuclear power plants. No matter how green or smart it is to build more.

I remember one time I was getting a lap dance from a stripper. She had a tattoo of a guy with a push lawn mower cutting grass where her pubic hair starts at the top below her belly button.

    Hope this helps

I have one of the push real type mowers, I use it once in a while If the grass is short it works great and no need for a bag, it mulches more or less, little tiny bits. I only use it once or 2x a year though.

My cheap Walmart $150 mower is still going strong after 5+ years and it lives outside with a garbage can lid over it when not in use to keep the rain off. I dont have a big lawn though, if I did it would be riding lawn mower all the way.

Ohhh I also have a Robomower. I need to put my line down and use it one of these day.

I have one of those also. It works a lot better than you would think. I have had it for 4 or 5 years now. You have to clean it out after every use because it picks up a LOT of stuff even after I have used my upright a few days before and NO, my house is not dirty by any meant. My housekeeper says she loves to clean my place because I'm the cleanest of all her customers, they have all said this and I only have someone clean ever 2 weeks.

Ended up getting one that I have used twice so far. Prefer it to pushing my gas mower. Works great.

I bought a Brill Razorcut from Clean Air Gardening last spring and it's a great mower - pushes easy - not a heavy lump of metal like the ones from when we were a kid. Definitely would recommend it if you want to push...
